Escaped that state for the final time 3.5 years ago and not going back. Illinois has never balked at creating laws that did nothing but benefit the criminals, and turned good citizens into criminals.

Just wait until that no bail/no detention law takes effect this January. When I retired in cook county you couldn't get a felony shoplifting charge unless it was over $1,000 acv, and the scrum had 3 prior convictions!

I feel for the good citizens of the state, the Midwest California has begun.

Regards, Rick Gibbs

I will be out of there three years this March and will never move again till I hit the graveyard. This **** will be ruled unconstitutional but the question is how much damage will be done until it is over ruled. Jim.

It will be the law abiding defenseless citizens that will suffer. And the state will always blame someone else; never fixing the root causes.

And, of course, Gretchen Whitmer is jumping on the band wagon now that there's a Dimwit majority in the legislature. As in other states a large leftist urban area completely skews elections.

I am a fifth generation New Yorker. I feel everyone's pain. Nevertheless, I will not allow anyone to run me out because my custom built home, gorgeous mountain cabin and local boating facilities are too important to me. Someone has to stay behind to man the voting booths and at least try to maintain some semblance or order.

I have lived in several crappy anti 2A states, NJ, MA, MD.

FL is awesome and no snow tires , ice scrapers or snow shovels.
Only down side is the humidity, the AC is still on and it's December but AC is alot cheaper than heating and with the warm water here no wetsuit needed if I go surfing!

Ps the surfs up today

The lone voice of reason in yet another dumpster fire political thread.

I'm stuck in IL. My great great Grandfather's farm won't fit in my suitcase.

I'm expecting this to hang up in the courts but very worried about the eventual outcome. They have tried to shove this down our throats annually for years. They have not had the votes to pass their previous attempts.

Ummmmm... don't see this passing a SCOTUS test, at least not with the current SCOTUS. But, it could take years of litigation to get a case against this law all the way to the SCOTUS.

I feel your pain Jim. I built my home on 6 acres in 2004. Built my hunting cabin in southern tier in 2008. I love them both. HOWEVER my boating facility is my 30' dock at my place in Naples Florida. Very soon my home and cabin will be elsewhere as well. NY is a beautiful state. From the Adirondacks to the Finger Lakes to Great Lakes shorelines. But the problem with NY is that it's in NY. 2-4 yrs and I'm out

I have been a ca resident all my life ,seen a beautiful state turned upside down,San Francisco is a literal toilet don't go there anymore, homeless and more homeless. The latest and greatest is now guaranteed income of of one thousand a month tax free of course
.I won't get into the 2a stuff ,can't wait to get out
and move to a red state that has laws that have cosiques and low taxes

I will just point out that NV was a red state when I moved here but it is now permanently blue. Residents of OR, WA, NM, AZ and CO will know what I am talking about. Don't think your red state is safe. Once the demographics shift just enough things begin to change rapidly.

Yeah, as a WA resident I know exactly what you mean.
I try to tell my neighbors in ID the same things you're saying.
They swear up and down it will NEVER happen in Idaho.
All I can say is keep whistling past the graveyard my friend...

When many cops retire their service weapon, normally a high capacity semi auto, is retired with them. If bans come their way what are they supposed to do?
