I wanted to replace my adjustable buttstock with a CAA Collapsable buttstock. Primarirly because the CAA CBSM has an adjustable cheek rest. I know i have to get a Mil-Spec Stock.

Heres my question. The buffer tube on our 15-22 only has 4 positions.... The advertised buttstock supposedly is a 6 position.. Will this work on my 4 position buffer?

15-22 is 6 position.

this might sound stupid but how is the MP 15-22 stock considered a 6 position? it only has 4 locking detents on the tube? meaning can pull the stock from fully closed to 4 different lengths until it is all the way extended?

Fully closed and fully extended are both considered positions. If you pull the stock off, you'll see 6 dimples in the lower receiver extension tube. The command arms stock should fit just fine.

After having this stock, I would have saved and bought an ACS. It is the stock that gets handed down to the lowest AR on the totem pole. I have the cheek riser too in a drawer somewhere. Not for me.

It is noisy, rattly, the storage case is prone to opening when it wants to. The cheek riser is flimsy and gets in the way of the charging handle. It is heavy.

Get something light for your 15-22.
