Just a couple of days ago, I picked up a new S&W 40-1 at my lgs. Despite being a little pricey, I believe it's going to be an excellent carry gun. At first I was concerned that the grip safety might be a nuisance but I now realize that it requires no extra effort at all. Just simply grip the gun in a normal manner that you would any other and you quickly forget about it even being there. It is capable of firing +p and has no internal lock. I paired it up with a pocket holster from Robert Mika and believe it to be the perfect combo. So satisfied with the package, I had to share.

I like the new M-40's so much I bought one too. The all steel frame add's a bit of weight but dampen's the sting of +P's a bit.
