We buy the pants to fit US.

Now there's us AND a gun in there.

2" larger waistband, and gun carried BEHIND the ileac crest of the hip, makes it disappear. Put on some compact grips (Spegel boots, for instance), and with a good IWB, a 4" square butt K-frame disappears like a Detective Special.
I found it was easier to get really sick, almost die and lose 30lb.s! Same pants!

I've carried a Victory 4" in a SmartCarry a few times... How comfortable it is has a lot to do with the cut of the pants worn. It can be fine, or it can be annoying. It is doable though. I usually conceal-carry more in line with the way biggs357 showed up thread though, belt holster with covering shirt. He's exactly right that wild prints (think "Hawaiian" shirts) are excellent for breaking up any printing.
Thankfully I live in a somewhat rural area of KY, and can open carry more often than not.

Erich, I've tried a ton of the IWB holsters. All top of the line. They were dumped, or given away.

I'm not a big guy, not much fat in the carry area I guess.

It's a personal thing, but that's where I am.

I do try very hard to keep an open mind on all things involved in CCW, and just because it doesn't work for me, doesn't mean I tell people not to try it.

I carry a 4" K frame in OK every day (usually with my 442 in a pocket, also). The K frame is a wonderfully comfortable gun to tote, provided you have a decent belt. A thin dress belt from Sears probably won't work, as it lets the grip of the gun cant out as it sags. A nice gun belt, perhaps with tapered ends, will solve those problems. I usually use an OWB holster from Don Hume, as I like to support Oklahoma businesses. If you're in or near OKC, you can get a great belt from Looper Leather. They'll even fix you up with a holster, as well. I prefer Magnas over target grips for every day carry, as they are the most difficult part of the gun to conceal.

Main thing to me is the grips on a K frame. Round butt three inch 65 with factory skinny wood and a tyler t grip for me, and an IWB holster. At 5 5 I am pretty short, but carried a five inch 1911 for years, only about three years ago going to the Glock 19. Its ugly and I hate it, but it is very accurate, light and easy to hide. Still collect Smiths, but the Glock is a shovel...a daily survival tool.

honestly, everyonce in a while I will ride up to the store wearing an antique 50 year old black sheep holster with my model 15-2 in it with a dickies button up over it or a baggy teeshirt over it and unless i bend over noone can tell. I am 6'1" and 128 lbs as of this morning, yeah skinny guy I know but I don't really have problem with printing because concealing was taught to me in tattooing for years.

Rule #1- use a design that has a lot of movement to hide the original design

Rule #2- use something interesting around the area to divert the attention of the looker

and rule #3- DON'T GO OVERBOARD, if you wear 10 lbs worth of shiny stuff or you wear stuff and look like a freak then they will look for more stuff in different places

funny how different subjects offer great info huh?

I'm 6' 215lbs... but I have low body fat%. Warm weather concealment is tough for me. I don't own many baggy shirts, and I'm not yet a fan of pocket holsters. Carrying a K or L(well hidden) would be impossible for me in the summer.

Luckily I can get away with wearing a coat for many months out of the year here in northeast PA. I usually carry my 681 in a shoulder holster during coat weather.

During warm weather, it's a 642 IWB at around 1 o'clock. Anywhere else more on my side always seems to stick out far.

I carried a 2.5inch 19 and 3inch 66 for several years in IWB rigs. They are great carry guns. They hide easily. I do think the 4inch tube might poke you a bit when seated if carried IWB but would be okay in a high ride belt holster. They can get a little heavy for some people though.

The Simply Rugged Sourdough OWB is a great holster. The bottom, though open, completely covers the muzzle unlike some of the better known models which stop the leather immediately at the muzzle end. The other great thing is that the mouth of the holster extends higher up on the gun than many other models. I can carry my 4" 66 with Hogue ruber grips against my skin and wear a baggy t shirt over it. If I swet it's on the holster, not the gun(holster is so nice it almost seems a shame but I bought it to protect the gun, not to look at). There's also something subtle in the way the Simply Rugged belt slots are spaced; once in place the holster/gun is almost sucked into the hollow in your side. Price is right and ship time very reasonable. I admire anyone who can carry IWB but I ain't one of them and I've been trying for 40 years.

Here are two K frame favorites, a 4" M19 without its' IWB holster, and a M66 in it's holster. The snubby is easy to carry and too handy to get rid of. The 4"er is basically about as easy for me to carry, and much easier to hit the target with. When I carry one of these, it's usually the 4"er.

Add a belt from Mernickle, speedloader carriers, a Speed Strip (Bianchi) or Quick Strip from Tuff Products, a pick pouch (DeSantis) and feel comforted when taking the family out for ice cream or to a coffee shop.
