Concealed carry at church?

as a minister myself i have no problem with members of the congregation carrying, i always do myself!

I asked my pastor what he thought about me carrying in church. He actually said, "I wish you would. With where you sit in the balcony you would have a tactical advantage." I love my church!

I always carry. If I can't carry than I can't go !! A gun in hand is always better than a Cop on the phone.........

NC law says you can't carry a concealed gun in areas of assemblies. I take this to mean churches, sports events etc. but i could be wrong.

NC law says you can't carry a concealed weapon in areas of assembly WHERE ADMISSION IS CHARGED. Years ago, this question came up in our concealed carry class (I asked it). The instructor, who is very knowledgeable on NC CCW law, said that church carry is allowed since no admission is charged.

I'm on stage for two services every Sunday morning. I manage the band and play guitar and keyboards (Guitar4Him). I always have my two buddies, Smith & Wesson, hanging out with me. They live in a Desantis Nemisis pocket holster. I'm not the only one carrying. We have a half-dozen CCW's at either service.

I've done CCW and Personal Protection classes for a number of different church groups over the past several years. A lot of churches in Missouri actually encourage lawful CCW amongst their parishioners.

Post #44 mentions some incidents, and at home we have the DVD "Shooting Back" from World Net Daily. I haven't seen our media saying much about all the murders & attacks by the terrorist extremists, upon our people & churches - world wide for generations - - - - but the internet can be a great resource in correcting that. Locally, too many home grown thugs attack & rob folks no matter where we are - including church. Bad people have been among us forever, and aren't likely to go away anytime soon.

ccw at church

churches down here in so. carolina have ccw classes on saturday church on sunday way it outterbe

If you can carry legally you should always do so. I asked my Rabbi if he had a problem with it and he also said he hoped I would carry. He's considering CCW himself.

Why is it that every time this subject is brought up on any gun forum, it degrades into an argument about whether or not God exists? And why are non-believers so threatened and offended by someone else's faith?

And as someone who grew up in the 60's and 70's, you cannot deny the impact that forbidding religious expression from schools and other government buildings has had on society. Bringing a gun into a school or a church and going on a murderous rampage was unheard of then because people were taught right and wrong based on Biblical principles. The far left has been very successful in throwing all that out, only to reap the horrible rewards decades later. But do they take any responsibility for it? No.

One SHOULD feel safe in a church, but as we have seen, houses of worship are no safer or immune from violence than any other place.

During the 1950's and 1960's even the early 1970s there were numerous incidents of violence due to the integration issues, attacks on black churches, attacks on blacks, attacks on religious organizations supporting integration, attacks on police and governement, anti-war violence, bombings and robberies and bank robberies.

I think I recall there were thousands of acts of anti-ware terrorism and many anti-integration acts of terrorism.

The 1960's were FULL of violence directed at churches.

FAR more violence occurred in the 1960's, acts of mass violence than today.
