This is from todays paper. OSBI figures show that more than 21,000 people in Oklahoma applied for licenses in 2008. So far this year there has been twice as many applications as were received by this time last year. Think Obama has anything to do with the increase?
My license renews in May and is good until 2014.
I will be 89 at that time and the good Lord willing I plan to to be around to renew again.

I personally know of at least three applications for Oklahoma permits that were directly caused by the election of BHO. They've all taken the class and sent in the paperwork, now just waiting on the licenses. If the OSBI is getting that many applications, it might take a while to get theirs.

I'm awaiting my renewal. Sent it in in January, expires in June. Still haven't got it yet.

It took six months for it to process five years ago.

I think they are out of control!

That really stinks Charlie. In NH it is a two week process, by law. Usually takes less as you are just dealing with your local police chief.

Mine took about 6 weeks to process here in GA. It's up for renewal in 2012.

I got my first about 12 years ago and up for the 3rd renewal this summer.
I have two grown sons 40,and 33 outside of plinking and an occasional hunt neither has been much interested in firearms. Out of the blue one asked me about the CCW course and saying he wants to get one. I told him about it and that if he did I'd buy him a 642or his choice. I'll see if the older one is interested and make him the same offer.
In my opinion the class presentation is very important. There are a lot of mistaken ideas about CCW and using it (and plenty of no good SOBs) floating around and I'd like my sons to be well informed and protected.

My decision to carry was made before the election, but after the election it became a whole lot more urgent.

My opinon of our president, vice president, and the majority of Democratic power players in this country is such that if I expressed it, I would likely be booted from this forum for all the profanity.

My permit expires on 2/29/13. I have not been able to determine which millennium that date falls on, but not this one. My permit must be good forever then right?

What good is the license if you can't buy ammo. It is getting crazy here in Missouri. Of course we are just about on the top of the Brady crap list. Gun shops are going out of business due to lack of product not lack of business. I hesitate to say conspiracy because that word is over used BUT? Try to get 9mm or even more strange try to get 380 who would of thunk that? I keep hearing allocation from the suppliers. what is that??? Anybody know the real reason we can't get ammo. I think I'll buy a 22 so I can go back to the range. it is a hard choice to go and shoot up a couple of hundred rounds if you can't replace them. and at the price if you can get the hot stuff makes it to expensive for me to sent 100 bucks down range each week.

Good luck finding .22 ammo either! Locally, there is none at all. I did find some Aguila standard vel at Midway, but 3/4 of the items were "Out of Stock, no back order". I'm glad I have always loaded my own, and have kept plenty of powder, primers and bullets on hand, but .22's seemed to always been available, not so any longer.

Aw, c'mon and get your TX license. It's easy and will add one more to the political numbers clout.

I feel for you guys with renewal issues. We got past that nuisance when Indiana went with a "lifetime" option acouple years ago.

A little off-topic, but I was wondering which states have reciprocity with my state. I found the site below to be very helpful.

That "Lifetime" option is a sure winner, not sure we here in N.C. have enough legislators who are sympathetic to get that approved. Something for those of us in N.C. to look in to, though. Appreciate your mentioning it "relic" Bob.

Very nice

When I applied for my CCW in OK, they told me it would take 90 days. They took every one of those 90 days and a couple more. When I applied here in Georgia, it took 30 days. Maybe it just takes a little longer to affix that picture to the permit.
