Concealed Carry Licenses

In Arizona license is good for 5 years. They send you a renewal form 90 days ahead of expiration. No fingerprints, or anything but your money to send back.

I wish they made it that easy around here. My state of RI is a "May issue" state that refuses reciprocity with every other state. Therefore, I need my non-resident permits in all of the New England states. RI, NH,CT, and ME are all 4 year permits with a reasonable fee of $40 - $50. MA, on the other hand, costs me $100.00 per year every year!

Them money grubbing socialists in our general assembly want to raise the RI fee to match that of MA. We have to fight the issue every session. A BCI check is required everytime you renew in MA. RI decided to raise the fee for getting a BCI check done from $5 to $40 !!! Pigs I tell you. Money grubbing pigs!!! Get rid of one illegal alien from the state, and they would save more money than raising every fee we have!

It isn't often that I can say this but Pa has it pretty close to right. We are a shall issue state, the local sheriff is the issuer. My sheriff wrote me a nice form letter reminding me that my license was about to expire. I went in and he did the renewal in about 10 minutes. The local sheriffs are kind of gun friendly, all carry 1911s in .45 ACP. Wilson combat 8 shot mags as well. He seemed surprised when I asked him about it but seemed pleased that someone approved of the gun savvy that indicated.

In my may-issue county in CA, i applied and was denied last year for not having a "good enough" reason to carry a weapon. With yesterday's 9th Circuit ruling, i have hope i might get a permit in my lifetime. I'm only 52!

The BEST reciprocity I know of is to NEVER let your sidearm show, then the "issue" simply won't ever come up!

... unless you have to use it.

Florida has added processing people twice this year that I know of, still big backlog in new applications. They seem to be getting renewals out PDQ.
They say "unprecedented number of new applications".

I was totally amazed Nebraska became a "shall issue" state. It went from a no issue to a shall issue. Not without problems though. Seems the little towns and burgs can pass ordinances against conceal carry. Reminds me of a 'swiss cheese' type of thing. Amazing an ordinance can trump state law...

Unless you live in the socialist parts of NY ie NYC, Long Island, and Westchester CCW licenses are for life. No renewals, just $3 every time you buy a gun.
That's as of today, who knows what tomorrow holds.

There is always that chance but that actually happens so seldom that I don't even consider it part of the "equation" and will worry about it if and when and not stick my head in the Sand worrying about the "if" of the things I do. I'm much too Old to sweat the Small Stuff and I lived through too much of the Big Stuff you worry about this particular issue.
