I received a solicitation for membership: USCCA (US Concealed Carry Assoc.) Included in the membership are a number of legal components like: Civil Suit Defense & Protection, Criminal Defense Reimbursement, Defense Attorney Retainer and others.

Anyone look into this? Sounds appealing to me and reasonable. I'd appreciate it if anyone has experience with this organization
to provide feedback. How credible is the legal service?

Thanks in advance.

A long time member here, Gary Slider, runs a website called, I believe, handgunlaw.com. Gary is the resident guru on state regulations and he usually posts in the concealed carry forum. He should be able to answer any questions you might have, and a visit to the website will tell you how to join.

Just so its said, I'm not affiliated with Gary or the website. He donates a lot of his time to help members of this forum stay ahead of changing laws.

I haven't had any problems with them and haven't been able to find anything bad on them beyond a negative post here and there.

I have a subscription to their magazine. It's nicely put together and relatively informative. I wanted to find out more about the specifics of their insurance coverage, but they seem pretty hard to nail down without making a commitment to them first. Of course, I may be missing something.

One other thing: after I subscribed, I started getting a TON of spam. One of the worst repeat offenders is an outfit that claims to offer relief to tinnitus sufferers, which makes me even more suspicious. It may be just a coincidence, but this kind of thing leaves a bad taste in my mouth (and it tastes an awful lot like BS). So I have nothing definitive to relate, just a bad feeling for what it's worth.

USCCA has teamed up with the NRA so now they get alot more exposure. Early on I was a member when it was only a gun magazine. Then they pulled an "OBAMA" on insurance as part of the subscription. I did not like the no option at the time (since has changed policy). I have other insurance from the NRA & the Armed Citizens'Legal Defense Network.
They are heavy on promotion and spam. Interested in providing a variety of insurance coverage and questionable history of any actual members claims.
Join at your risk. Certainly impressive in ads and the magazine itself.

They do spam some, that is for sure. No worse than some of the other news subscriptions I have and actually better than some of the ones I belong to. They are at their worst when they have a promotion going on like when they were trying to get members to sign up their spouses too. I was getting a bit annoyed at that one.
