Does anyone else besides me like the slender, compact profile of a S&W 908 (shown), or S&W 3913 for a FINE personal concealed carry weapon?

I love my CS9 as one of my favorite carry guns.It isn't a 908 or a 3913 but it is in the same neighborhood.God Bless.....Mike

It's amazing that walther is banging on about it's revolutionary new slim PPS, when S&W were doing it decades ago.

Awesome pistols the 3913/14, 908's.

I was reading about some Taurus "slim" 9mm in Barnes & Noble Sunday. Gunrag writer was gushing about "slim" profile, "great 8+1 capacity", "light weight and easily concealed". I had to snicker. My 3913 was being worn under a T-shirt, and was undetectable. S&W did all this and more years ago. Nobody has improved upon the 3913 yet, including S&W. Regards 18DAI.

Nice pics and nice "cut-out" on the grip J. Crown

I wouldn't trade my 3913LS either. Good comment 18DAI.

It is a fine personal carry gun, and don't forget the 3953, which is slimmer because it is DAO and lacks the safety levers.

I like my CCW pistols, thin, light, and in .45 ACP. Here's my perfect CCW pistol;

For me, the 908 is nearly perfect. I just got a Glock 26 for concealed carry, but it'll never fully replace my Smith. I see it probably 40 to 30% Smith to Glock, with my other choices a 642 Airweight, Model 36 Smith, or my venerable Beretta Puma .32

I was told that the glock 36 slide will fit on a glock 30 frame allowing for more ammo.

I've been carrying my 908 for a while now and love it. I've never had a mis-fire, it easy to conceal, and very accurate. My only problem is I'm still trying to find a quality OWB holster that is made specifically for the 908.

Unfortunately I bought a 3913tsw as my first carry gun. I have searched high and low for a better gun I realize I bought it first. I carry a P32 in my pocket while at work but my 3913 is with most other times. I just cant find anything that suits my needs better. Small accurate reliable shootable thin.

If you want more capacity, just buy a 30. I don't want the heft or the bulk and always carry a spare mag no matter the pistol. .45 ammo gets heavy pretty quick. 13 rounds of .45 ACP +P is plenty for me.

I purchase my holsters from a store in Dallas that primarily sells to police officers (Dallas Public Safety Supply - (214)748-1060 - I don't believe they have a website). Linda on my 3913LS and Mark on my 908 fitted them both to the same exact IWB holsters - the Galco Scout (SCT250) and the Summer Comfort (SUM250). Both have been great and have held the guns snug. This is the same holster made for the SIG-P229. It just works great. I don't know if the OWB Galcos for the SIG P-229 would work as well as the IWB ones have for me? Might be worth checking out.

As far as concealed carry holsters go, I've tried a ton of them and I've settled on the Tucker Texas Heritage for comfort and concealment. Rob Longenecker makes quality holsters and also has OWB models to fit most handguns. The 908 is on their list.

I picked up a 908 about six months ago for a small carry gun and to be honest I was not expecting much at the range..... Boy was I wrong it's one of my more accurate guns I own and it feeds everything.

I have 2 908's, blued and stainless, and 1 3913LS. Accuracy on all 3 has been rewarding, and not one jam or misfire. The target pictured was shot at 25 ft., with 40 rounds (5 clips) of 115 gr. FMJ, with the blued 908 pictured at start of this "discussion topic".

I have the 908 as well.. a great gun!
i am looking for a small .45. anyone carry the 457.. the .45 version of the 908.. is it as good as the 908?

Thanks

be safe

I like my 3913LS - and carry it frequently. I was surprised how much more I enjoy carrying-handling-shootng this model than my previous 669. It feels-points-carries much differently, at least to me.

Amen. I carried a 3914 and decided I should get with the times and move to new (plymer, striker-fired) technology so I bought an M&P9c. Nice range gun but I cannot carry it without it printing badly. The wide, blocky (and heavy) slide is squared off at the rear and pokes out with any holster combination I tried. So I sold the M&P9c at a loss and picked up a used 3913 to alternate with my 3914.
