Yep, as an old lawdog, it would just make another good 'idiot' story to tell later.

OTOH - a more specific 'Official Mall Ninja' badge might be more appropriate.

Dog the Bounty Hunter, what a joke he is.

Anybody dumb enough to hunt criminals with pepper spray and a paintball gun deserves to be made fun of in any and every way.
LMAO!

It would be funny as hell to see him in a shootout, the criminal with an AK47 and him with his paintball gun. God thats priceless!

I watch sometime just to see his wife!! A genuine trailer-trash BBW! Does anybody know that actual cup size??

Many years ago a group of us were at a dive-in theater. As the evening went on the car next to us kept getting rowdier and rowdier. Finally, one of my friends who was a volunteer fireman got fed up. He walked over to the other car, flashed his VFP badge quickly and said in a stern voice, "Look, I'm willing to overlook the smell of grass coming from this car but if you don't tone it down you'll force me to take action".

It was all we could do to keep from laughing as he walked back to the car but they did calm down. Did you have something like this in mind for your CCW badge?

Dumb, really dumb. Your friend is lucky he didn't take a beating after acting like a tough guy. If those punks had called his bluff he would have been SOL and anyone that jumped in to back him up would have been as well.

How can there be a concealed carry badge?

Are they issued by a legitimate CCW or gun permit issueing authority?

It just marks you as someone with a mental deficiency when you go before a judge and a jury.

This guy shot someone and he was delusional.

He bought his own badge? Is he pretending to be a Cop?

I am an active duty Correctional Captain/Instructor for the Delaware Department of Corrction. I carry my badge and ID card in a seperate case and never leave home without it, on or off duty. I am allowed to carry off duty by my department and also have a CCw permit from Delaware and Penna. I carry all of this in my badge case an dwould use it to identify myself in the event of a shooting. Although I don't have LEO powers outside my jurisdiction it identifies me as a good guy. Be that as it may, we need to always do what the responding officer tell us and then ID ourselves. BTW, if I am stopped for a traffic violation I will NOT use my badge to get a break, I'll just take my lumps. Should have known better than to break the law in the first place.

For dolts who don't get enough attention by gratuitously flashing their carry piece to anyone and everyone.

Plenty of cops don't even carry a badge because they don't want the holdup man to find it on them when they get robbed at the ATM. When they get pulled over for vehicular homicide and want the cop to let them go, they just pull their ID card out from way in the back of their wallet and show the officer who pulled them over. Likewise when the new BMW's are in and they want their 50% police discount, or when they have to drop it on the registrar at college so their kid can get free tuition.

That's about the most ignorant thing I've ever heard.

Mike,
Sounds like somebody is bitter about not being able to serve and protect...or just hates cops. Not going to let it ruin my day

I'm still laughing about the "free tuition" thing!

Most cops I know will treat you with contempt if you flash a badge. Trust me, someone who carries a badge for a living, will not be impressed.

Having said that however, it may help identify you as the good guy (assuming you are the good guy) in a shooting situation. Check your local laws about impersonation of a police officer.

**DARN!** I wish I had known about the college tuition 'badge discount' thing. That would have helped me out a bunch when my son started last Fall.

And now, back to the original question:
What does law enforcement think when they encounter a lawfull citizen with one?

And, the Best Answers arrreeeee......:

1. I'd think the guy was either a hopeless doofus, or a child molester.

2. Short answer. Phony Badges are a Dumb idea and shouldn't be worn by anyone over the age of 5 Maybe!!!

3. I was ask this same question in a CCW class, I personally don't care,(read, don't give a rats ass) about a CCW badge, boy scouts have
badges.

4. I can't think of any pros. The cons? Ummmm, lets see. I beleive the cop would either freak out, laugh at you, or both. Oh, and the wannabe dork factor would be very, very high. The state issues a permit to present, not a friken cracker jack badge.

5.

Here it is in a nutshell:

If you have a carry permit for a firearm the involved officer is going to want to see it and verify its validity.

The badge has no validity and the involved officer may misread this as deception or trying to pass yourself as a LEO.

Another good answer, but too late. The contest had already closed. You'll have to pay to get in the barbecue. Or, show a CCW badge.
On second thought, you can have the horse

By the way-
CCW Badges will be for sale at the ticket window. They are available in gold, silver, bronze, rainbow, and custom colors to coordinate with any fashion outfit.

Yep, and plenty tender he is. If it were WW ll I'd sell it as pulled pork and we'd both be rich. In this economy I'll just donate it to a soup kitchen in Detroit, where they don't care about anyone's badge and everyone has a gun.
