Concealing a handgun in a book

My CCW instructor had a book on metalworking, a huge old tome that he glued the pages together himself and used a drill press to 'cut out' the center of, then glued felt on both covers and camper tape around the cutout. I can't see gluing together 1k pages though, too much work for me.I would be more likely to take the pages out and make a wooden box the right size to replace them with and paint the edges so they looked like pages...

I've been using a Dillon day planner carrier every day for several years.

Gun hidden in a book

There are places that will sell you a book cut out for [a/your] gun.
Since the 1960 I have been doing my owne:
1. Find a book of the correct thickness.
2. Lay the gun on the pages, inside the cover, and draw an outline of the gun.
3. Take a SHARP KNIFE and cut on the outside of the outline.
This should allow you to enlarge the whole if necessary.

Amazing!

Hi guys. I'm so glad that I came across this site/forum. You can find almost anything on the WEB and get much needed help at the same time. Thanks for the info about the day planner and the book safes. I'm going to college this fall and I may end up going five days a week again and I'll be damned if I'm going to go with my pistol! Last semester, some young s.o.b. pulled a gun on me while on a city bus! I have put off buying a gun close to two years, but that guy broke this camel's back! So it's going to be the day planner and a book safe whenever I leave for the college. Thanks you all so much.

FYI... Most colleges are "gun-free" zones. Just sayin'...

Could I suggest that from the moment you wake to the moment you hit the rack, it's on you and super concealed. While sleeping it's in a book, ect. and when you awake, it's back on your person. Don't even let a room mate know you have it! Good luck and don't get caught!

I'd be a little afraid of dropping the book and having the gun topple/fly out. But then I may be clumsier than most.

Concealing a handgun in a book===Been there dun that 45+ years ago.
[1] Select a book that fits the gun you want to hide.
[2] Lay the gun on the inside of the book and outline the gun.
[3] Use a BOX CUTTER or other sharp knife and add 1/4 inch to the outline drawing, when you cut.

I love that under the desk holster the NRA offers. That would work great for me to store one downstairs by the computer (under the desk).
