Confirmation: ATF planned using Fast and Furious to justify more gun regulations.

Awwww, how sweet, Big Brother is looking out for us, no matter how many people get killed with them doing it. I really wish someone would be able to go to prison for this. They knowingly told LGS to sell weapons to suspect people against better judgement, watched the guns go to mexico and all they have to say is 'gun control'? I have a better one, lets try 'Unemployment Demand 3'
*Rant off*

The NRA has been saying that all along. I suspected it, but didn't want to believe it. If the article is correct and this is the case, there should be criminal prosecutions. A border agent was killed with one of the guns and the people involved in the scheme have blood on their hands.

Just a friendly reminder for those posting additional comments; LEAVE THE POLITICS OUT.

I think some new regulations need to be put into place. When ATF is anyway involved in the purchase of firearms, ammunition, or components, then there needs to be a 90 day waiting period and approval by both houses of Congress. No approval = No sale. It is ATF and the Justice Department that has shown they lack good judgement.

Sheryl Akkison is a thorough reporter. Surprised CBS allowed her to report on the story.

It is still stunning to me that the press is buying Holder and DOJ's line that no one knew anything about this operation, all facts to the contrary.

US Agents were killed as a result of DOJ's sanction, sadly justice will be covered up for political gain. And with Holder's "lying is just a state of mind" comment, how can anything be believed which comes from his department.

It does seem to confirm that agenda's trump the law these days.

Not to mention the untold number of Mexican citizens that have been impacted by this. I'd really like to see Holder and his bunch of keystone cops extradited to Mexico. I said it right from the start, it is the administration manufacturing a set of circumstances to justify their anti gun agenda. I guess this is what "working under the radar" is.

The fact of the matter is that this has been a "rogue" agency under administrations of every stripe, and has never done its job very well, and has frequently resorted to grandstanding plays, often with calamitous result, most notoriously at Ruby Ridge and Waco, but these shameful gaffes are just the tip of the iceberg. The agency's staff and leadership and its supervisors, all the way up the hierarchy, should be prosecuted for any crimes committed, and the agency disbanded. It may have served some purpose as "revenoors" to police moonshiners (at which it was notably ineffectual), but is now an anachronism, and clearly a menace to the rule of law, and our constitution. Ask Richard Jewell.

Who here does not believe the ATF did not use the denial of renewal of the gun stores FFL to coerce questionable firearm sales. Or is it just accepted that the gun store owers are just the bad guys.

I for one would like to see what the FFL holders experiences were. But, I doubt they'd talk for fear of losing their livelyhood.

One dealer (Lone Wolf) was smart enough to record phone conversations he had with the BATFE (Yes, that is legal in Az.). When ATF found out he was talking and 'lawyered up', they got serious. The place is open but no one in the store will/can talk about the 'on going investigation'. When I asked about why the dealer would not talk openly about it, the answer was "Gag Order". Take from that what you will.
I have three relatives, a brother, and two nephews that are LEOs in Arizona, they do not need this kind of help.

It almost seems to me Mick, that between the ATF and ICE the Feds want to run Arizona and not by the rule of law....

No 'almost' about it. Arizona is the gateway for illegal drugs and illegal new voters, why would any of that need to be stopped by anyone wanting more power and control. A bunch of dead Mexicans and a few American LEOs dead is acceptable when the end justifies the means.

It really nothing new for the poison and the antidote to be cooked up in the same "lab".
