Several years ago I owned a new/old stock S&W 3914TSW. I sold it reluctantly as I was liquidating my S&W 3rd gen collection. It was the only S&W 3914TSW I had ever seen. Today I was able to purchase 2 new/old stock consecutive numbered S&W 3914TSW's. I thought I would never see another one for sale, much less consecutive numbered ones! Very happy camper today!

Cheers!!!
David

Very nice pick ups. My guess is that the 3914TSWs were either made late from left over parts or part of a cancelled LE order. Back a few years ago a bunch of those started to show up at various sites, but for a lot of money. At the same time, some NIB 3953TSWs showed up as well as a few 3914DAOs.

Were these all left overs from various contracts that were held in reserve against the need for warranty replacements? Or were they made by the ever thrifty S&W factory from frames and parts left over after 3rd Gen production ended?

I suppose we'll never know.

Would you mind sharing the production dates (at least the years), and if both guns were made at the same time? With consecutive serial numbers that would make sense, but then again it's S&W.

The seller apparently purchased the two 3914TSW's from an auction site. Attached are the labels on the two 3914TSW's

Cheers!!!

Oh come on, just stop it. ;)

I am amazed at what you are finding. I'm actually trying and can't really find anything that interests me. I definitely can't find what I want/"need". I suppose that's all part of it.

Again, (again,) super nice and I sincerely mean it.

Thanks Jim....some days I just "lucky"! After I sold my first 3914TSW I thought I would never see another one for sale! Lucky I found consecutive numbered ones today!

Cheers!!!

Built on the same day. Again the question is if it was 1999 or 2009. Another S&W mystery.
I would guess 2009. The paperwork included is copyrighted 2008.

By the way, I'm the seller of the consecutive 3914 TSWs. This is my first post.

I've already learned a few things from Mr. Parker (he's a gentleman and a scholar) and the posts in this thread. Can't wait to see what else the gurus here have to say.

2009 makes sense for these as they didn't start to show up until sometime around 2015. At least I didn't see any for sale until them.

The SCSW says 1999-2006, but from reading the text I suspect that they simply used the same verbiage from the 3913TSW based on the faulty premise that they were made at the same time.

As I've said, it would be interesting to know when and why these and the 3953TSWs that popped up in the same time frame were made.

I would guess 2009. The paperwork included is copyrighted 2008.

Congrats.

Great photos too. How did you get the pistols to hang in the air like that in the first two?
I held the pistol up, then pulled my hand away while very quickly shooting the photo when my hand is just out of frame. Each pistol took about 10-15 drops just to get it right.

Just kidding.

I merged two photos together in Photoshop.
