Little over a year ago me and a friend started a Facebook group 2nd Amendment Sanctuary Anderson SC.
With the intention of getting a 2nd Amendment Sanctuary Ordinance passed in our county. Hoping it would spread county to county and then the State.
Little did we know a group called SC Carry a non profit in SC was gearing up to do the same.
The upstate leader Randy was a very nice guy and pretty knowledgeable.
We got over 5,000 signatures on petition.

Packed out County Council chambers. Largest crowd seen in over a decade at County Council.
Council chose several people to be on the advisory committee to get this thing written and get it passed. Myself, 5 others, 2 County Councilmen , the Sheriff and the County Lawyer.
Other counties passed resolutions. I believe we were the first to have a true Ordinance passed.

This year Constitutional Carry was being discussed in the state. It ended up failing.
They did manage to get Open Carry with Training passed. It becomes law in about 70 days.
Basically it's just Open Carry if you get a CWP. If you already have a CWP, you can open carry when it becomes law.
The $50 fee to SLED was removed. 25 rounds instead of 50 rounds during the CWP class.
We also became a 2nd Amendment Sanctuary State.

Constitutional Carry is still in the works. Hopefully they will get it passed next time around.

FL Republicans outright killed Open Carry and Constitutional Carry this past session like they do every session.

Important part is at least they are trying to push back on the stupid things others are trying to push on us!
It sends a message that we aren't laying down.

They'll never do it in CT where I am.

I'm happy for the states that try!

Disagree, don't think it does a damn thing. The elected representatives of SC claim to be pro-gun, and massively so, yet they only offer platitudes and minor improvements like allowing someone already licensed to OC. They want to keep the votes, not deliver on helping the 2A rights of their residents, and they need their feet held to the fire on it until meaningful change is enacted.

I don't see anything wrong with open carry, WITH TRAINING.

We have to keep pushing aggressively for Constitutional Carry. Many States where it is law now had it vetoed before it passed.
This is a daily fight in a long game.
But, any progress is good, it keeps the ball moving toward our goal.

There is no pending issue to discuss here, so we'll keep the chatter to a minimum.
