Conversion barrel for M&P 40c question

I ordered my S&W factory barrel from midway last Thursday morning and received it today (monday) in the mail. Wish all company's were as good about getting the stuff you order from them shipped out. Way to go Midway. I will do business with them again.

Now I just need some 9 mm ammo

The guys over on that "other" M&P forum will crucify anyone who does this. Supposedly someone contacted S&W and was told the barrels are not interchangeable and this should under no circumstances be done. Seems like everyone here has had great success with the change.

S&W for liability reasons will tell you you shouldn't do it, because according to them, the 9mm barrel is for the 9mm gun, & the 40 barrel is for the 40 gun, & they don't make conversion barrels. Years ago when Buick Grand Nationals were the hot cars to own, someone figured out using a 2.5 four cylinder fuel pressure regulator would improve performance on the 3.8 turbo motor. While GM had no knowledge about this, & recommended not to use the part, some gear head tried it on his own, & it worked. But for liability reasons the factory played dumb. What if Buick said to try it, & for some unexplained reason the car caught fire. Deny everything. LOL. GARY
