The guy who sold me this, was carrying a Desert Eagle 50 cal under just a t-shirt, and I never noticed he was wearing it.

Anyone else with experience with this specific brand?

Looks well made. It looks like a "belly band" style, just for higher up.

The only problem with under the shirt carry is getting to your weapon. The grip looks like it will be in your armpit, so drawing straight up and out of the holster will be tough. Not to mention getting to the gun. You'll have to practically take your shirt off.

Rule of thumb is that from a normal standing position, you should be able to draw and fire accurately at a target in 1.5 seconds. That's why most concealed carry folks carry IWB.

That being said, with enough practice, you could probably drawn from anywhere in a second and half. And having a gun with you is better than leaving it at home.

I have one similar to this and find it uncomfortable and inconvenient under most applications. That said it does see some use from time to time, but my money would have been better spent elseware.

I've found this to work great for me, in specific situations.

It's a terrific option when driving. It works great over a t-shirt, but under a zippered sweatshirt (hoodie).

It's easy enough to fiddle with so you can wear it high or low to suit your ease of drawing the weapon.

I know a couple of ladies who also love this for an option over a bulky chunk on (or behind) their hips.

Note: I have nothing to do with the company that makes it.

I have a band holster for my Shield, and I like it for certain applications. Deep concealment while wearing shorts is #1. They do get hot though.

I'm planning on getting one of these soon. Figure it is good for dress up, just wear it under your shirt. If you wear one under just a T-shirt you can reach thru your neck opening to get it. I believe they gotta be a good idea. Under a dress shirt you just unbutton a couple buttons and draw. Beats a shoulder holster in my opinion.

I don't think I have EVER heard of a "plain clothes" police officer wearing one of those things... There MUST be a reason the professionals still rely on quality shoulder gear if they can't use a belt holster.

Just sayin'

My problem with it.

1. How long will the elasticity last? I have several hip holsters that used the same style and most made it several months before saging, stretching and deforming.

2. If its around the armpit area how fast can one grab it while wearing a t-shirt? I'd have to hike my shirt over my head to reach my gun. Not a good idea. Too slow and awkward.

3. How much will it slide down furring the course if a day? Will i have to keep hiking it up like a bra?

4. Cops dont count in this instance. They can carry and wear what they please i have to follow the ccw laws if my state.

I've seen those issued to nursing home folk with ccw's...typically, these octogenarians have umbilical/abdominal wall hernias, and this truss device takes care of both hernia support needs, and concealed carry, with the added benefit of the poor old soldier never being able to access his sidearm, especially when he's in a posey restraint. :D

I don't mean to shock you, but not all cops wear body armor all the time.

Edit to add: Flexibility is the key to surviving. It just depends on the situation as to what equipment you might need to use. The various "belly bands" are a workable solution for certain circumstances. To say that no cops us this type holster is silly.

Just call me silly. Go back and read my posts - I never said no officers...

I am smart enough to know ALL officers don't wear body armor ALL the time. But they ALL wear body armor MOST of the time they are outside of their station.

That being said, I personally know nearly a dozen active and retired officers in several states. They are family and friends. I asked several of them if they knew of fellow officers ever wearing this "holster", and they consensus response was "Are you serious?"

I can see Joe Cirillo wearing one of those things now...

This particular brand (Anres) is made of a very breathable fabric. I don't have problems with heat, and with my particular 'belly', slipping down is no problem.

I prefer wearing it over a t-shirt, but under an overshirt or zippered sweatshirt (hoodie).

I have tried several different makes of the Belly Band Style. Some rolled or doubled up and did not stay flat. Some started to unravel and fall apart or were not strong enough to hold what I wanted to hold. I finally bought a Galco. Its too thick and warm but the best made. I never could get used to them and only use it when I have sleeping type clothes on while camping so I am always armed.
