These are cool speedloaders for the 686 Plus. The plastic ones are sometimes faulted for being thin due to the 7 round configuration. These Five Stars are made of aluminum and seem sturdy enough:

Look up 5 star speed loaders. I have them for my 8 shot 627. Very good quality and reasonable price.

They are nice.
I don't care for the fact that I can't get them round like an HKS.
If they were round, *I believe* they would be less likely to scratch expensive grips.

5 Star is the only brand of speedloaders one should be buying.
The shape of them does not effect performance or cause damage to my custom grips. I can see some grips that have high grip overhang causing issues but even with those large wood grips on one of my .500s the rounds load in freely.
Not a single other brand can match the quality or performance of 5 Star speedloaders.

Love the grips on that 686. I'm still waiting for the custom wood grips I ordered from Nills for mine.

I use them. Btw they will make whatever finish (color) you want, if its not a listed option just email them.
