Thinking about a 40 cal 4.25" CORE. There are several red dots Smith & Wesson are reccomending for these new guns. They are supposed to co-witness with the new raised sights. Will they actually precisely line up? I was thinking about the Leupold Delta point, it comes with either 3 MOA dot or a 7 MOA delta (triangle) which would be better?

Any other info or tips about the CORE would be great!

Thanks!!

Someone must know, is a 7MOA delta red dot to big, or is the 3 MOA dot to slow for target aquistition?

Thanks

I just got my 5" CORE 9mm today, and mounted my Burris Fastfire III 8 moa. It works great at the 25 yard range. Super easy to pick up the dot. I had it set to the medium intensity.
And yes, the fastfire works with the type 5 plate, although it sits just a bit high to co-witness.

I have the 7 MOA on my M&P Compact. For handgun distance 7 MOA offeres quicker target acquisition, the whole reason for going with a red dot. 3 MOA would be better after you get further out than 25 yards but I cant see that happening with my M&P.

I have had 3.5 and 7 inch doctor sights on handguns and found that I prefered 3.5 min dot.

I was often shooting 50 yards and dot was simply too big.

Just got my 9mm CORE and sent off for the EOtech MRDS using the half off msrp coupoun purchasing directly from EOtech...it is 3.5 min dot and is the only size they offered in this promotion directly for the M&P.

You could call EOtech and ask there thoughts on the matter they are accesable and easy to talk to.

let's put it this way....7MOA at 25 yds is ~1.75". Can you shoot a smaller group than 2" at 25 yards right now? BTW...it's possible to shoot smaller groups than the dot is large, especially if the dot is a triangle.

How did you score that 1/2 off deal?

I have been thinking about an RDS for one of my pistols...

ok the eotech half off deal isnt actually half off the site is 335 but still a pretty good discount, opinions on the eotch at 335 or the delta point at like 400,opinions please, thanks!

Happy- when your MRDS comes in can you take a pic of it mounted. I would like to see how well it co- witness'. I'll try to get a pic posted of my fastfire 3 mounted tomorrow for reference.

I was thing about a Delta point. do you need the all mounts options or can you get the "cross slot" mount and take it off the baseplate? the all mount is $50 more

Big Cloud did you ever get an answer on which base to get for your Core? Just bought a CORE and want to purchase the Deltapoint. Trying to figure out what base to get.
Thanks!!

I used my CORE coupon for a JPoint. ($251 shipped). Got the larger MOA, and it's about right for my old eyes. I usually need a 1.5 reader to see my sights, but the large dot seems to be fine.

Managed to get it adjusted pretty well before running out of my daily ration of ammo.

For the CORE, all the plates and screws are included for the specified RD's.

I got the Deltapoint with all mounts. Realized I didn't need all the mounts but it was the deal I came across at the time. I think all the plates come with the CORE. It cowitnesses nicley and was was almost dead on out of the box. I got the 7.5 MOA and found it works perfectly. Other than the price, I'm happy.

Core with JP

Nice looking Core with JPoint. Where did you get the orange baseplate for your magazines
