What a waste of good cornbread...

Ill reply to others here as soon as I get back online but--THIS is the types I have to deal with daily: but well worth it.
Not my gym but, you get the gist. When they are getting hungry-telling you what they want-they tell you how much and what to make:

Zero intentions of anything nasty.

I would forget my cornbread recipe and cook their cornbread just the way they want it. :):D Larry

My wife says my corn bread is too dry, last batch I put a can of creamed corn in the batter. Came out good and moist.

I put cornbread right up there only second to "grits" ugh! Navy did it to me.

My roommate in Kosovo was from Indiana and had been in the Air Force. He didn't like grits either until I brought some back from Virginia and cooked them right. :) Same with the black eyed peas, which he said he had never eaten.

I also made a big batch of chili and served it to my German police friends, with fried cornbread on the side. Couldn't cook that cornbread fast enough!

Try Pamela's gluten free corn bread-available on Amazon-really good-and coll for restrictive diets as well-just had some last week end.

A while back my grab and roll shopping style resulted in some really bad tortillas.
I took a close look at the package, they were gluten free.
They were also taste free.
Feel bad for folks who have to eat that ****!

I use Martha White "Hot-Rize" cornbread mix and follow the recipe on the bag. If I make fried cornbread, I add a little extra milk or butter milk.

Cornbread don't need no extra sugar!

I substitute coffee creamer (powdered) and water for milk. Instead of eggs-I use Applesauce. Never had any returned to me yet.

Cornmeal batter according to any good receipe, preferably yellow. Melt lard or Crisco to about 1/4" deep in a cast iron frying pan until bubbling, pour in batter bake until golden brown serve hot with plenty of real butter and blackberry jam. Follow with cold glass of milk.

I substitute "lubricant" by using bacon grease.:)
