i am trying to find out what the correct box would be for my model 51,22 mag. made around 1972.would it have printed labels or the hand written labels on the end.thanks.

I'm thinking your box would be a blue, two-piece, Bangor Punta-marked, with the broken silver border on the box lid, and a white stick-on end label on one end with gun particulars hand-written, but no imprinting of model/bbl/finish on opposite end.
As for my Model 30-1s, the '69 box has both a stick-on end label and box imprinting, while my '76 box has the stick-on label only. I would assume exceptions occur, but my recollection is box imprinting of model data was gone by the mid-70s.
