I have a 19-4, SN 52K575 that has target grips with the football relief. I also have a 15-4 that has target grips with the full cutout. I don't remember which grips came on the 19. The 15 did not have targets originally, but I'd like to make sure I have the original ones on the 19. Which style would have been on this gun?
I have a friend who wants to buy it. I haven't decided if I want to sell it or not. It is a blue finish with the 4" barrel. The only sign of wear is a small dull area on the cylinder. I have the original box and papers. What is a price that is fair to everyone?

Thanks

Thanks, do you know when they switched from the football relief?

The 52K prefix would have been from 1979, and 71K from 1980. The standard S & W reference states the "speedloader" style arrived in the mid-1970s. Since S & W used up old parts until they were gone, and a factory letter will not state which stock style came with your gun, either may be correct...more likely the large cutout, but no way to be 100% certain.

$650 or so sounds to be a fair price with either set of stocks. Are you sure you want to sell it? :) Hope this is helpful.

Mine from the same time period came with the full cut outs. In fact the wood is some of the prettiest I've seen. I've put the original stocks in the stock cabinet and the 4" 19-4 sports Altamont checkered finger groove targets for day to day use.

Thanks for the replies. I don't shoot .357 ammo in it. I thought I might as well just shoot the model 15. I'll probably keep it anyway, just because I like it.
