Correct Original Grips for S&W 629-1??

Good Morning! I just bought a 629-1 4" that has aftermarket grips on it -and- I intend to replace them with the correct original grips as soon as it arrives. The Serial number is: AJC 6XXX. S&W says the date-of-manufacture is 1986? That might be accurate, but I've had them mis-date some of my previous enquiries. Would the "football cutout" grips be correct -or- would the grips with the SpeedLoader Cutout be correct. I knew some of you guys would have experience with this and have the answer. Should be speedloader cutout with silver washers.

I chose to go with Altamont grips. Very happy with them.

So funny…I just posted my 629-1 same time as you! My 1983 manufacture has original grips with a date stamp consistent with the S&W reference book I own. I expect that a 1986 would likely have the speed loader cut rather than the football cut mine has. Look for the "629-1 accuracy" post….

At the moment I do not have it handy, but I have a 4" 629-1, pretty sure N prefix serial number, but it has football cutouts as standard

My 629-1 came with the speed loader cut out Targets…
