I'm the second owner of a gently used M&P9 Pro 5" and I just noticed some corrosion on the slide and takedown lever. It had been in the factory case for a couple weeks.

Will S&W fix this if I send it back to them?

Thanks.

Yes... I bought a used Vtac.40 and it had piece of fiber optic missing on the sight and a small blemish on the slide and they replaced the sights and entire slide. I just simply called Customer Service and told them I owned a Vtac told them issues and they said send it to us and they fixed it

NOT a good idea leaving it in the case once it's been fired and the factory storage lube has been cleaned off. Lucky it wasn't worse.

:eek:Didn't even dawn on me. I'm taking it out right now!

Thank you!

Don't throw the case away,it's great for transport to the range, shipping back to S&W if there's a problem. AND best for resale if you should ever deside to. Careful about putting a VERY HOT gun back in with the foam lining.

Problem is,the case can hold moisture and that's where you can get into trouble. I always keep the oily wax paper that the gun is wrapped in too.

ALWAYS wipe down your handgun (or any gun) with a light coat, oiled rag to take off moisture from hand prints or any use.
