Just curious at how much markup is in the new J frame no lock 442? (150544)
I have seen them as cheap as $340, and there must still be a profit at that price, so what would dealer cost be?

I paid around 350 for mine in December, just in time to get the $50 rebate. So my cost out the door was about 3 bills. I really like mine but would have had to turn away at $440.

Dealer costs is $331 and change. Some distributors are currently offering dealers an additional $15-$20 off of that. Locally (upstate SC) the gun shops are selling them for $369-$419. Prices can vary quite a bit. The big discount stores (Academy, etc.) may be cheaper but I try to give my business to the LGS. The LGS offers better advice and often throws in perks like scope mounting and bore-sighting for free to frequent customers. I can often talk mine out of some fired brass for reloading too. The local guys will often haggle. That doesn't happen at the big box stores.

Here in central Florida the 442 642 and 637 are 399+ tax, as stated for online stores are a little cheaper but it u don't have an ffl that is reasonable on transfers it turns into roughly the same price as lgs, and I try to support local shops every chance I get, but I will not pay 25% more at a lgs either. I personally think that buds has an awesome thing goin with the free shipping. I have also heard of a place called Tacitcal Machining in Deland, FL that does free transfers as a service to their customers. I would also walk away at 440 in a lgs...

All depends on where you live I guess. I would have preferred to give my business to a local shop but around here the prices are staggering. I looked at a 642 in a local(ish) independent and noticed it had a $529 tag on it. I asked if it came with anything at that price and was told that was the gun only with no perks of any kind. When I mentioned that was about $80 above the MSRP they got kinda mad and told me all about shipping and paperwork. Having been a businessman myself I understand about overhead but I don't feel they should pay it all on my purchase alone.

Buds price includes shipping at $361, so lgs at $440 would be close

I'm not a math wiz but that is $79 difference, so yea buds is 361 shipped +25(transfer and call in at my ffl)=$387otd, I'd pass on the lgs at that price, reason being is the savings is enough to buy a decent holster and an Apex spring kit(must have IMO)

And u are not wrong for feeling that way, the way I do it is if a lgs will get within 10% of an Internet site, I would probably buy from them unless we r talking about a $2k Les baer, then I'm sorry I will put that extra 200 in my pocket, cuz I love guns but I'm only 23 and at my job $200 is almost 3 days work

We have a new gun shop in town and the guy is cutting some pretty good deals to get his business started. I picked up a new keyless 442 for $340 plus sales tax. Around 369 by the time I got to the door. I was happy.

$334 plus tax. $358 out the door. Planned to spend $349 plus tax. Got very lucky.
