cost to re-nickle a pistol

Could anyone give me an estimated (general) cost to re nickel a semi auto, or even chrome it.

Gun is in good condition but original finish has been tarnished and wont polish out.

Mostly curious to the costs involved and any suggested places to send it.

I'd consider Metaloy if hard chrome that has a look of stainless steel appeals to you. Their website will likely have pricing info.

Electroless Nickle - $135


Remove old plated finish $35. Addition prep work beyond "nomal" , hourly rate.

I had a new Colt Trooper Mk-III in Electroless Nickel. It didn't look anything like S&W's nickel finish, unless they later improved the process.

Colt electroless nickel should look brushed stainless steel.
