I understand! I bought a 4.25" late last summer then added a 6" a couple months ago and said I wouldn't buy a 3" since I have a really sweet 2.5" M66. But I couldn't resist and added a 3" Python a couple weeks ago. Fine guns!
I've been a big Smith fan but had a 6" python I bought about 40 years ago. I sold it when prices hit insane levels and seriously regretted it. I love my smiths but there's something special about the Python. I've added quite a few vintage Smiths over the past year and added 6 new Colt revolvers. Love my vintage smiths but the new Colts are excellent.

They are purty and handle well. Re: revolvers, I now have one each S&W and Colt I've bought new and if Colt puts the DLC coating Python into production I'll probably get one of those too. S&W...are you listening...ditch the IL!

I try, but the trigger doesn't impress me enough to lay out that kind of $$. I'll stick with my Smiths.
I know the 3" bbl is extremely popular among the forum membership, but I wish Colt had produced a 2.5" bbl instead. This length just looks right to me.

old pipefitter, some say variety is the spice of life, so I really don't think you will be ousted by anybody on this Forum for obtaining that Colt!
I'm not a Ford guy, but after driving my friend's Mustang GT, I would not say NO to obtaining one if I had the spare cash! Fastest & most fun I've had since my '08 Chevy SS Impala; WAYYYY faster!
That's a nice Colt. Since it's a "rookie" in your safe place, he can start by cleaning up after the S&Ws till he earns his "safe cred." (Street credibility, but in gun lingo.)

I made this set, but it took me quite some time (15 hours or so). Don't do it to save money unless you have nothing but time!
I am sure that makes your Python just that much more special to you! Nice job.

There is a 4.25 or 3 inch out there that has my name on it and it is just waiting for me. I'm doomed, my number will come up, if I'm lucky it will come up around my birthday
