After getting a Cabela's/Bass Pro catalog in the mail a few days ago, and the 15-22 on sale for $329.97, I got a wild hair to get me one. Of course, they were all sold out/back orderable. I'm pretty much done dealing with Cabela's anyway (for various reasons), so I called a small, local shop that I've dealt with in the past. He said he has 3 of the M&P 15-22 packages (Case, Red Dot, M-Lok 4 slot rail, 25 rd Mag), and they're $380.00. With nothing better to do on a miserable, cold, windy, snowy Monday, I jumped in my truck and headed over there to check one out. The owner said he'd sell me one for $360.00. Sure, why not? So, I got me a new M&P 15-22, and also got a set of MagPul BUIS for it. Brought it home, stripped it down, degreased everything with Gun Scrubber, polished all the innards, degreased again, lubed everything and re-assembled it. The action operates silky smooth now. Installed the Red Dot sight, BUIS, the M-Lok rail, and Sure Fire X300 light. I'm going to change out the pistol grip and add some type of sling/sling attachment to it. Weather permitting, I'll run some rounds through it tomorrow and get it zeroed in.
