After getting a Cabela's/Bass Pro catalog in the mail a few days ago, and the 15-22 on sale for $329.97, I got a wild hair to get me one. Of course, they were all sold out/back orderable. I'm pretty much done dealing with Cabela's anyway (for various reasons), so I called a small, local shop that I've dealt with in the past. He said he has 3 of the M&P 15-22 packages (Case, Red Dot, M-Lok 4 slot rail, 25 rd Mag), and they're $380.00. With nothing better to do on a miserable, cold, windy, snowy Monday, I jumped in my truck and headed over there to check one out. The owner said he'd sell me one for $360.00. Sure, why not? So, I got me a new M&P 15-22, and also got a set of MagPul BUIS for it. Brought it home, stripped it down, degreased everything with Gun Scrubber, polished all the innards, degreased again, lubed everything and re-assembled it. The action operates silky smooth now. Installed the Red Dot sight, BUIS, the M-Lok rail, and Sure Fire X300 light. I'm going to change out the pistol grip and add some type of sling/sling attachment to it. Weather permitting, I'll run some rounds through it tomorrow and get it zeroed in. :D

I sure hope so! Been flip-flopping around for a while about getting one. Finally made a command decision! lol

I hesitated for years and finally bought the same package you have back in September. Only had time to run 100 rounds through it before deer season started. I live on my hunting land so have to wait till January (my rules). The red dot is OK but at 50 yards my astigmatism turns the dot into a blob. So next range session is with new scope mounted in January and that will tell me how accurate it is. Love this little rifle already and I'm sure you will too!

I know what you mean about the dot. It's more like a bunch of little dots all clumped up! Hope you had a good hunting season so far. Lots of time left!

Took it out back today and dumped 20 rounds into the wood pile just to function test it. Runs like a charm. Just dropped another $80.00 at Midway on a MagPul pistol grip, sling/sling swivels, M-Lok bipod mount, and a 10 rd mag. As soon as this weather warms up a bit (or at least when the sun finally decides to show itself again), I'll set up my bench and zero in the red dot and irons.
