Before this week, the only S&W that I owned was a 340sc. Well, as things would have it, I ran across the two guns I had been thinking about for some time just last week. One on gunbroker (a CS9 in quite good condition) and one right here (a new 3913 Lady Smith) -- courtesy of handgunner356:

Mark (handgunner356) is great to deal with! I'll be looking for what you have to sell next time!
Both guns came in on Monday. Talk about fast service by these sellers. Thanks! Anyway, I was able to get to the range this afternoon. The Lady Smith went first. It shot right to POA. This is a sweet pistol -- justifying all of the rave reviews I've read here on this forum. I cycled through 100 fmj and 50 rounds of Golden Sabers without a problem. What surprised me is that this gun is right on par with my Sig 226 (out of the Sig Custom shop!). I'm going to enjoy carrying it around.
Then came the CS9. I liked the somewhat fatter grip and could deal with the shorter grip -- just like I do with my Sig 245. However, I was beginning to think I had been at the range too long today. I simply could not hit the target where I was aiming. I use 3x5 post-it notes on my targets, so I set up a couple to see if it was me, or not. In the first picture below, you can see 5 shots circled. Those were the 5 I fired (at 21') using slow and deliberate aim and hand held. The grouping is nice and tight. However, I was aiming a the center of the horizontal line on the pink post-it note. Just to make sure, I then ran off 5 shots using the Lady Smith (see the second picture). The double-action shot went a tad high, but the remaining 4 shots were literally on top of one another -- see, I told you the Lady Smith could shoot!
So, I'll be needing to push the rear sight over to the right a bit. I've read that the CS line shoots low, so that is somewhat expected. Has anyone figured out a set of sights (or sight) that eliminates the lowness problem? Anyway, thanks for any advice you can shoot my way! And, sorry for the quality of the pictures. I took them with my cell phone.
