Cover the lock hole

Had a random thought / idea .Wandering if it were possible to manufacture a slightly oversize off center cylinder release to cover the hole of the lock .the screw to fix the latch in position would stil be in the same place in the frame but it would be mounted to the lower left to raise it up to cover the hole.
What do you guys think ? or am being unrealstic...bear in mind im Carpenter not a gun designer so go easy lol.I really dont like the hole in the frame on the Classic models as i think i detracts from there appeal.

I don't see why it wouldn't work.

The cylinder release doesn't move forward enough. If was it was big enough to cover the hole, the hole can't be uncovered so that the key can be inserted when the released is pushed forward.

Great idea!Good point by previous poster but NO PROBLEM- make sure gun is unlocked before installing NEW OVERSIZE LATCH that hides the hole, then after installation, throw the BLOODY KEY AWAY! Hate LOCKS!!!
