The majority of ammunition loaded for .44 special and .45 Colt is for cowboy action shooting, and they mostly use round nose flat point bullets. Since a LSWC is a more efficient design for more uses, why don't the manufacturers use the LSWC and reach a broader audience? There are so few factory options in these calibers, you'd think they'd widen the appeal and make it useful to non-CAS shooters.

I'm only guessing but for the most part before CAS became popular there was very little demand for the .44 Special and .45 Colt. they are appealing to their targeted market share and I really can't blame them. A LRN bullet is the best choice for shooting steel targets...

The ammo is marketed for CAS shooters.

When you shoot timed competition like CAS with a single action that includes a reload the round nose type bullet feeds into the cylinder much faster than the SWC design The flatnose on the bullet helps cut an easier to score hole in paper and works better than full RN for knock down targets.
