Craig's list scam???

USUALLY armed ??? shame on you!! I am always armed when conducting a cash transaction of any kind.

So am I, and I usually have a friend who's also armed go with me.

I've bought and sold lots on Craigslist. We've always met at a convenient public location, and so far, I haven't dealt with any flakes.

You might be the most safe if you just burn that computer and buy a new one. I only use Craigslist for local face to face in daylight and in public places now. And I'm usually armed when I get there. I don't allow anyone to come to my house, I prefer the mall parking lot or similar.

Same for me, but most of my selling is on eBay. I have a PO Box, and even my credit card I use to pay eBay fees is linked to my PO Box - not my house. Cell phone, not home phone number.

Want to met? You meet at a McDonald's in daylight - cash only or pay before via Paypal, an I usually have my 17 yr old son with me (ice cream cone or french fires treat!!!!).

On craigslist I always post "must reply with a name and phone number or I will NOT reply", that way I do not have to give out my e-mail.

:) I started to post an add on Craigs List this week and was looking at all the warnings about scams. I decided not to post the add. I am glad I didn't. It's just not worth it. Don

It can be worth it, you just have to be careful.

i listed a truck on craig's list and the next day i got an email that went something like this;

Hello, I would like to buy your truck. its for my father and i dont want him to know about it. as long as you think he will be happy with it i will buy it. i am overseas and will have to send money through paypal and have a friend pickup the truck....

i replied, "this sounds like a scam....."

Never heard back.....

What does ice cream cone of french fires mean?
I don't get it

It is suppossed to be Ice cream cone OR french fries - meaning might as well get a little treat since we are there anyway.

Not much different from a newspaper classified. I sell regularly and have had no problems but I don't sell diamonds and rolexes. I sell lawn mowers/power equip, car/truck wheels and assorted surplus garage inventory so I get a better class of people responding to my ads. I use a separate email and get their number. If they don't do it my way I delete and move on.

My wife told me last night of an acquaintance who got taken by a fake would-be lover on an internet dating site. She sent $15,000 to... Nigeria! Hahahahahahahahahaha. It boggles the mind that people can be so gullible. I guess they are.
Can you send me her phone number? Or send her mine?
You can tell her I'm 39, have the body of a Greek god, and look like Clark Gable.

(that Greek body is startin' to stink....)
