I have seen where some people use white crayola or paint to fill in the etching...which is better? What's safe to use on the polymer?

I melted and rubbed crayola into mine. If you use paint, it can be a bit harder to remove.

With crayola, a toothpick can be used...

What do you use to wipe off the excess crayon?

China marker is better than a crayon. Easier to apply and more durable. ;)

I prefer paint. I used mineral spirits to clean the excess paint. If you want to use paint, use paint. I used crayon, then changed my mind later and tried to clean all of it out before I applied the paint. Total pain in the ***. There are parts that look grainy because I couldnt clean all of it.

I used Lacquer Stick, which is a "fill-in paint, then just wipe of the excess. On rough surfaces, wipe off the excess with mineral oil. I did this to mine two years ago and it still looks like I just applied it! Good stuff!

This FNX got momma's fingernail polish. I didn't know my wife had so much stuff still I started trying to find the nail polish. I cleaned it with the acetone (fingernail polish remover) first, painted a big square over the letters and then swiped a credit card over the frame to wipe off everything above the engraving. It was done before I knew it.

I can clean it back off and change the color anytime, and boy do I have a lot of colors to pick from!

Acetone on polymer is a no-no. You used it on the steel slide, and it's not an issue.

Since the 15-22 is mostly polymer, mineral spirits or rubbing alcohol....

Please, some one tell me were to get the Red, White and Blue rail covers.
Thanks !
