Hey All,
Here we go again, PLEASE TAKE YOUR TIME AND READ THIS OVER CAREFULLY.
For those of you that have been following this crazy story about getting a hold of some spare factory barrels from S&W for the CS-40 to convert them into a 10 m.m. (i.e. CS-10).
It's time to put your "name into the hat"

Ref:
http://smith-wessonforum.com/smith-...-m-m-done-cs-40-cs-45-extended-magazines.html

It is going to be a reality by early next week.
I have secured four (4) barrels, one of which I will be keeping for my CS-40 that I committed my barrel to for a 10 m.m. to do the spring testing.

Please, only put your name in the mix for the remaining three (3) if you are positive that you want one of these conversions.

As before, with the 4013 Single Stack conversion;

The factory barrel will be re-chambered using a CNC Lathe to re-bore it to the ANSI/SAAMI specifications for the 10 m.m.

Springs have been tested and proven from the two samples that I received from the spring manufacturer.
They are from a supplier that makes many OEM springs for many major gun manufactures and
also a well known and trusted after market spring supplier that we all have bought springs from.

I will supply two (2) different lengths of the same strength spring.
One length will be designed to work with with the addition of Buffer Technologies buffer, one (1) supplied by me.
I have to thin it down to allow the slide to lock back on the empty magazine.

The second will be the length that I purchased it at.
That way if you feel that you don't want the buffer, you can shorten the shorter spring down (with the buffer removed it's to long) and
you will still have a new spring (full length) to work with down the road.
I recommend using the spring that I designed to be used with the Buffer Technologies buffer and you will have a new spare spring for later.

As with the 4013 to 10 m.m. conversions,
the magazines have to be modified by the removal of the welded sheet metal spacer in the back end of the magazine and a white 10 m.m. follower will be modified and installed.
The material remaining on the inside of the magazines from the spot welds has to be ground away so as not to impede the feeding process.
OR,
you can use CS-45 magazines with the feed lips tweaked in to the same dimension as the 1006, CS-40 and 4013 magazines.

The price of the barrel, two (2) springs and one (1) Buffer Technologies buffer is - $250.00 shipping included.

Additionally,
You can send me your CS-40 magazines with your barrel order and I will modify your supplied CS-40 magazines and modify and install a white 10 m.m. follower for - $25.00 each.
I can also at that time "Vibro-Peen" the letters "CS-10" on them so as not to get them mixed up.

OR,
Send me CS-45 magazines and I will modify the feed lips @ No-Charge with your barrel order.

To add to the mix;
My CS-40 - 10 m.m. fires and cycles perfectly in my CS-45.
The CS-40 barrel has a .425" chamber hood width, where as the CS-45 hood width is .480", so it will fit in the breech, and lock-up.

Regards,
BM1

Very nice work BM1. I am tempted to buy a CS40 just to do a conversion!. Oh I was just thinking...Making my Shorty 40 into 10mm would be amazing!

Yea,
Wish I could, that would open a whole world of options, but it's a No-Go.
The frame/magazine is only long enough for the .40 S&W round.

PS
Thanks again for that "Special PC Barrel" some time ago.

No problem. Part of me still wishes I kept that barrel but I know it's in good hands getting lots of use. I am happy to see you are continuing the trend.:)

***** "GOT-EM" ****** CS-40 Barrels to 10 m.m. for the CS-40 and also fit the CS-45

Hello all,
It's good to be back, I have been away (out of state) for some time now.
I have had some on-going personal issues that needed to be addressed.

It took some doing, but I finally picked up the new CS-40 barrels yesterday, I have 4 of them.

One is going to go into my "demo model" that I made into 10 m.m. to prove it all out
and one was previously promised to Simmy952.

So,
there are 2 extras for those who want a "CS-10", it is a phenomenal "Pocket Rocket".

I truly thought that there would be more of a response to these, that is why I took the gamble and purchased them.
I have spent many, many hours of research and development work into this to get it perfected.

Please,
please put your name in, I would like to not end up getting stuck with extra barrels.

Regards,
BM1

CS 40 to 10mm bbl

BM1,
I am a 10mm fan. I have quietly admired your conversions. I would have jumped in on the 4013 project if I had a 4013 or could find one. Same is true here. If I had, or could find a CS 40 or a CS 45, I would put my name in, but I do not want to get in the way of somebody who can actually use the bbl. I will keep looking for one of each in the hope that there may be a "round 2" of barrel conversions. Thanks for all the interest your work has inspired in me. Makes me think in a whole different way about some of the guns I see.
Mike

I am guessing that a 945-40 could be converted to 10mm... I use a 10mm mag in my 945-40 for extra rounds. Cool project you have done here. If I had a CS I would get one of these for sure.

I want to keep my CS40 a 40 cal. Is there a mag entension made for these by any company? If not, what would you charge for 1-2 mags with an extension and/or adding 1-2 round to the mag?
