CS40 in carbon...should I buy?

By chance chance, does anyone know what the small parts are?

You appear to have parts bags possibly with part number markings. Better pictures and any part numbers would help. They look like Midway bags - go to the Midway sight and search the part numbers. The odd shaped thin metal pieces look like trigger springs - not sure if they were used in all 3rd gen pistols (not used in CHP in 4006TSW as I recall).

The two copper colored items are trigger play springs.

(They can sometimes break and cause the dreaded "Trigger Click" but cannot be replaced without the accompanying rivet.)

The other small bag looks to contain an ejector depressor plunger and spring.

(Perhaps someone removed them from the pistol to eliminate the magazine safety.)

They seldom fail so I can't imagine why someone would buy them as "repair" parts)

You've already identified the guide rod, although it appears to be steel, when the originals were plastic.

Hey JohnHL, Yes the Guide rod in-pistol and bag are both steel...and thanks for enlarging the pic to check out these parts...really appreciated. I will double check on whether the Mag release safety has been altered...although I fired it yesterday, I can't remember haha...but I think the MR safety worked as intended though...although can't remember...Thanks to all who have chimed in...I genuinely appreciate the comments !!

EDIT: OK I double checked, and yes the magazine Safety does not work as designed ... Good call and eyes JohnHLand I thank you for the alert to the potential safety hazard...I owe you a coffee ! This CS40 is my first mag safety release altered S&W pistol...
