CS45 at LGS

Stopped by a LGS on my way home from work and they had a really nice Chiefs Speceial in 45ACP. It is the Stainless type model and had the original S&W hogue grips. I didn't ask if they had an extra magazine or box when given a price of $800. I asked if it was a consignment, they said yes and I asked if that was the best they could do. After going into the back the sales person said that $750 would be the best they could do.
I have a CS9 exactly like it that I picked up for $350 about 18 months ago(which I'm pretty sure is a good price). Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this CS45?

$750 is too much IMO. I kinda regret passing on a new or nearly so CS40 last fall that was priced at $450. I would like to find a CS9 for $350 like you did!

That seems high by about $250 if no box or mags, but I'm not an expert on CS prices.

That's an absurd price! $400 with 2 mags. $450 tops.

I have to agree with the others $450 plus tax is the absolute maximum for a CS-45 with two mags, $400 for just the pistol.

Great gun, I had one and it never malfunctioned. A bit on the heavy/chunky side for an all day CCW piece IMHO.

There is a CS40 still for sale here locally in original box, big dog grips and four mags for $750. Too high.

In the past year I've watched probably a dozen CS45s on GB and average SOLD (i.e. market) price is about $650. That doesn't distinguish box vs no box, number of mags, etc. But when I saw one for $450 I didn't hesitate to buy it, no box, 1 mag. Where I go I don't see them in the LGS. But imho $750 is too high. If you bide your time you can get a better deal on GB.

I agree, seems a tad high for me too. I just brought a CS45 for $460 that included three mags, original box & papers, and Big Dog grips.

CS 45 is a great gun IMO....that price is way too high though. If the CS45 is a "must have" gun for you, be patient and keep an eye out on the Internet sites. Pretty regularly see them in great shape for $500-600 tops.

In my LGS there are a couple of sellers that have a few guns for sale that are way over priced for the market. These guns, a couple of 66s, some old 32s, a Smith and a Colt, as well as a few others have been there for a long while. Some of these have been there for better part of a year....apparently unconcerned that they are sitting there. This gun is over priced as well. The owner of the store may or may not have told the owner of the gun will not sell at the price set. From there, it is moot. Waiting may prove beneficial. If not. You may try to ask the LGS owner if they will call the owner again with a firm price from you. If not, you may just have to wait or find another one. It gripes me to no end that some sellers think they have a gold mine in a certain gun. Oh well. Some owners just aren't interested in selling. My local experience tells me that.....

525.00 is what I paid 3 months ago in my part of the woods, LNIB with all the papers, 750.00 is a bit much but if you have to have it, go for it.

Keep an eye out I'm sure more will pop up sooner than later.
