I have the opportunity to purchase a CS45 for $519.00 plus shipping and I was wondering if that price seems a little high? I know there aren't many out there for sale. I haven't seen the pistol it is in another town and I would have to buy it unseen, but another forum member said it looked almost like new and it has the case. Any comments would be appreciated.

Trying to place an accurate value on used guns based on the different markets they sell in is difficult, at best. We've got a general range that we've seen various S&W semis sell at. But to me, the real question of price to value lies with the completeness and condition of the pistol versus the likelihood of finding another one in the near future for less. Seems to me that any of the CS series are getting fewer on the market as people decide they're better off keeping in the gun safe than regret selling them down the road. (Seems we've all been in that position). Good luck with your purchase!

I recently paid $575 for a CS45 with 2 factory mags, 2 new factory mags in wrapper, and an extra set of Big Dog grips.
At $519, when will you next see one in that condition? I believe they go for more on GB, you may want to check recent sales.

I got mine through trade of roughly $500 gun+ammo so price seems reasonable to me.

I got mine thru a trade and it equalled out to around $600-. It is very clean with 2 mags box and paperwork.

probably a fair price if it is in decent condition, would be an even better price if came with extra mag and/or was in excellent cond. Personally would not buy any gun at any price sight unseen (or at least a series of good quality, detailed photos) and without opportunity to talk with seller. Others might feel differently. I paid $500 each for stainless and blue a few years back,never say never but I sure would hate to part with them for that.

There are a couple of 3RD Generation pistols that are becoming scarce and the CS45 is leading the way. I'd be pretty paranoid buying it sight unseen, however. If you can verify condition is Good +, I'd hit it like a heat seeking missile!

If you think the fellow forum member has his act together, a
really nice CS45 would not be too high a price at $519. The one I
got, on the reccomedation of a forum member looks pretty used,
but works just fine. If S&W were selling new ones, the price you mentioned would be pretty low. You'll not regret it. TACC1

I spoke to the salesman and he said it was 98% and if I didn't like it I could bring it back. They shipped it free so I bought it and if it is as good as he says then I will be satisfied. Thanks for the info it helped me make my decision. I am just now getting into the auto's

With the pricing of all 3rd gen Smiths on the rise, especially the low volume ones, I think it all comes down to how much is an individual willing to pay, or how bad do you want the particular model. Thats my opinion for the day.

With the high cost of ammo, what's $50 either way? $519 sounds like a fair price. I think you won't regret it. If you do, you could sell it easily.

Doesn't matter if it doesn't work or has a problem...as a 3rd gen gun it has a lifetime warranty.You send it to S&W and have them put it into the get well corner and in no time at all you have a perfectly functioning gun again. I always ask them to make sure that it meets or exceeds S&W specifications for safety before sending it back to me.

A CS45 @ that price is a absolute no brainer,go for it.The CS series of pistols were overlooked and now that the shooting public is in on the secret the prices are hitting the roof.I was a 18 year DA Revolver shooter who became a NRA Rifle and Pistol Instructor.When I entered the world of bottom feeders the CS9 looked like it was made just for me.I bought one NIB and haven't looked back since.....God Bless....Enjoy.....Merry Christmas.....Mike
