CS9 Chiefs Special Value?

They go for about $425 here, along with the 39xx. Theres a store that has a CS45 for $450 right now. Anything over $500, unless they come with a ton of mags or rare model, is too much

I paid $525 out the door for a carbon steel CS9 from an individual back in April. It had no box or papers, but had two magazines. It also came with like-new Meprolight night sights installed, a second set of Trijicon night sights, a replacement steel guide rod with it's spring, both flat and curved mag floor plates, and a DeSantis holster. I've been more than satisfied with the purchase. It's my main summer carry weapon. (As the Texas summer cools, I plan on switching to a 908S. If we have any winter, I'll go to a 6909.)
One note. The mags from the 3913 will fit, but will extend beyond the bottom of a CS9 grip. The CS mag holds seven rounds; the 3913 mag holds eight cartridges.
Here's a pic with the extended magazine.

Hey Tom-Tom,
If you decide to get rid of your extra set of night sights let me know. Ive got two CS9s - a stainless and a blued and only one of them have night sights.
Thanks

Also, i think 600 is a great price for a hell of a gun. A lot of times you can talk a seller down a little, so you might be able to get it 550-575. Ive seen them going for around 700 on gunbroker. you can get on there and look at past auctions to see where they ended if you are curious. My gut feeling is that they are becoming more popular since they are legal in CA and NY.

Got a CS9 and two CS 40's, one wearing Big Dogs. All mint. None were over the 600 mark, but it really just depends on the timing. Sometimes they sit, and other times they go nuts..it is a crazy market.

I paid $520.00 and $25.00 shipping for mine during the political SHTF days. Stainless with box and papers and in almost NIB. Echo cpeblue, the prices are all over the board. Mine has 300 rounds of all different ammo without a burp, reliable to the hilt. It's in my carry rotation and my go to with short pants. Now that it's finally cooling here in Texas, I've moved to my larger frames.

CS9 What are they worth?

I traded for the model CS9, this morning. I traded my NIB M&P 9 for it. This gun is same as new. In the box, with all the stuff, that came with it. Not sure it has ever been fired. I guess it is a later model. It has the safety on both sides. I think I got a pretty deal. I like the smaller frame. What do you think?

Can't load the pictures on this site. If you want to see it, just email me your email address,or cell phone number, and I will send you pictures, from my cell phone.

Same here for me. My usual Texas summer carry is a CS9. Now that fall has arrived and when spring gets here, I transition to a 908S. Winter, such as it is, brings out my regular house gun, a 6906.

I need to hijack this thread a little. But, to stay on point, I cannot imagine paying 1100 dollars for one of the CS-line of pistols. I have owned and carried a CS-45 for more than a decade and I still love that gun but there are SO many compact pistols out there today I cannot understand how a CS in any caliber can exceed around 500 bucks. Maybe I'd feel differently if I didn't have one BIDTS....

So, the thread hijack - because some of you on this thread know this - what are Big Dog grips and how do they differ from the standard grips on a CS model pistol?

Thanks.

Big Dog grips are 3913 grips cut down professionally to fit a cs9 and installed with a pin like a all the other 3rd gens grips. Provide a thinner carrying pistol, like what s&w should have done when they produced the cs9. Big Dog is the handle of the fellow who fabricated it, and has sold 100s of them. Now available at the website griftac.

cs45pilot, excuse me if I'm wrong, but those look like delrin(S&W OEM)grips. The grips pictured in post #14 are what I thought Big Dog grips were. The standard S&W delrin grips are retained with a grip pin. The Big Dogs I've seen pics of have screws retaining them, as evidenced in the pics from each post. Can anybody shed any light on this? Thanks!

S&W did not make delrin grips for the cs9, they came with the hogue grips with screws only. The grips you are calling s&w oem are in fact 3913 grips modified for the cs series. The standard for cs series is hogue with screws. The delrin grips with pins are in fact big dog grips.

I know I've posted this picture before...
But, here is the difference between the factory Hogue grips and the delrin grips.

The one on the right is my CS9 with factory Hogue grips.
The one on the left is my 908S with the delrin grips I cut down to fit the CS9.
The second picture is the CS9 with the delrin grips.

This is news to me. I had no idea that the S&W delrin grips on my CS9 weren't factory. I'd actually gone to Big Dog's website and thought, "Hm, those look like the grips I have now. So, what's the deal for 100-some dollars?"
Gotta love the stuff you can learn on this site.
The gun's previous owner had already set me up and I didn't even know it. The pictures I'd seen of CS9s with Hogues, I just assumed had been fitted aftermarket.
Hey, I may be slow on the up-take, but once the light bulb goes off, it's like a movie premier searchlight.
