Hi guys,

I bought a pretty beat up CS9 in South Africa, beggers can not be choosers, and i ordered all the springs and everything to replace the worn ones, and this was done through S&W USA themselves,

The gun smith that saw to the parts refinishing, managed to mess up my Mag release nut, where inside the hollow of the nut where it is built up to retain the mag release itself, this is now worn and no longer able to hold onto the mag release when placed under spring pressure, it took almost a year for the parts i ordered to arrive to my agent here in South Africa, my question is this:

Is there somewhere where i can just buy this little mag release nut, without having to go through a years wait? please advise urgently, as i have after a year of waiting, a useless CS9 pistol here, i am gutted, i can not begin to tell you how i feel, any help here guys please...

I tried the Mag Catch Nut from my 915 and 3913 and it looks like they are interchangeable. One silver the other blue.

I'm guessing most are interchangeable so here's a link to Brownells.

I would email them to be sure they have one that is listed to fit the CS9. Like is say, I'd bet many do.

Also, ask if they can ship out of the country. Hope that helps.

Well, I may have posted too soon. Looks like the CS9 has a plastic button that is driven out, according to Fastbolt in this thread. Can be converted to metal.

It's S&W part # is 239090000 so you might be able to email S&W to get it. Left side of page has a part # section.

Here's a link to Midway with a picture but they are back ordered.
Expected 10/9 so keep checking.

Sorry for the false start, I didn't know the CS9 was part of the Value Line. Good Luck.

sent a PM to fastbolt, hopefully will come right there, as i am running out of options fast, he mentioned that he had some magazine release nuts spare, i am hoping i can get one from him...

S&W has some contacts listed for dealer sources in South Africa. Have you tried them? One of them, Classic Arms, is also listed as a warranty station. You'd think they ought to be able to get the plastic Value Line mag catch button (which should be replaced if ever removed from the mag catch body).

I've streamlined and consolidated some of my parts, unfortunately.

Hi thanks, yes that can get it, the current agents for S&W are Nic Yale and MRST, however to get the part into SA, one has to apply for a export permit, and that along with the shipping etc etc, taken roughly 8 months. In the mean time i have asked an engineering company with CNC machinery and such to manufacture one for me in the mean time, until i can get my hands on the factory part...
