Hey maybe someone can help me. My brother in Law brought his first gun along on a 4th of July visit to me. Its is really nice and opened my eyes to this generation of S&W autos.

Its a Chief Special 9mm the only thing wrong with the gun is the rear site is missing the panel (sorry didnt know what to call it) with the rear dots. I took it to a noted S&W gunsmith local to get the site repaired they called Smith and mo problem 7 days the parts will be here and a day or two I can pick up.
That was 7/5 I picked it up today unfinished they said the parts are not available at this time.
I plan first to go to Dick Williams Saginaw MI and see if Doug can help than Steve at Williams gunsite Davison MI if that doesnt work.

Does any one have any insite into getting parts for a factory site?

Thanks Hank

Thanks HAnk

It appears that S&W is losing interest in making 3rd Gen parts. I would check with Novak and see if they have one. If they do for $35 and the shipping for slide only they will install.

S&W 3RD Generation 9MM

If you are interested ,Now might be a good time to invest in a set of night sights..

Its not my slide and I know my brother in law (great guy but) would not know the diff in the sights.
Made a stop to Dick Williams in saginaw MI and they went in back and found a take off and just like that the rear sight is fixed.

We are in business

cs9 sights

The best option is to get the night sights. They will fit without extra work. I had a cs9 and gave it to my son. Great guns, shame they stopped making them.

The novak's shoot a tad low to point of aim.Get a set of Trijicon Night Sights and problem solved...Mike
