CSX disassemble

Nice photography! Thanks for taking the time to post that

Someone had to do it, S&W is stepping up their game with this pistol, fit and finish and trigger is really nice (just my opinion). The frame and slide fit and finish is also nice, no shatter or machining marks on either the frame or slide. This is what they should’ve started with when they developed the shield. I believe they’ll sell the hell out of this gun as long as they fix the magazine issue with bulging tight fit when loaded to advertised capacity

Ah thank you for posting the firing pin portion. I’m glad I stopped and didn’t try to force anything.

...and what in the above pictures offends you so much? :)

Nothing offended me.
It is just another proprietary design.
Does it mean it has to make everyone happy? Not at all. I just don't like how it was built.

I really like the idea of this gun. So far from what I've seen and read, I'm going to guess we'll see a generation 2 in a few years that will address the small issues that are coming out.

The fit looks really nice though and they really did a great job making a feature rich micro 9.

Neither negative or positive, but has it struck anyone else besides me how uncanny a resemblance this new S&W has to the old Star Firestar?

I think it's called convergent evolution. Hopefully S&W have avoided the issue that plagues many of the Star pistols, having to pull back the hammer a smidge to engage the safety. My Starvel Firestar does this, despite not a lick of visible wear on the rest of the gun.

Come to think about it, there is some resemblance between the two but Star is a Spanish company and honestly I don’t enough about them I hope these csx guns do well time will tell after several hundred rounds and use we’ll start to see the gremlins pop up

I never thought I’d comment on slide serrations, but they are noticeably awesome on this thing. Especially the small but helpful T shape at the very back end of the slide. Very nice.

Just wondering if you had a chance to see if the CSX sight cut is the same as the shield?
If it is, I think I'll get an EGW optic plate and play around with using a Burris Fastfire III.
Thanks for the great pictures and video.

Looks like it’s the same sight base but haven’t tried that yet, the sight base came off really easy, no real effort to get it off and the slide has a notch where the sight screw sits so relatively no sight base adjustment is possible, only drifting the front sight to get gun on target

Saw a bunch of mim parts, guess we can't get away from that.
Anyway, I'm very interested in this, great pics.
thanks.
