CSX E-series owners PLEASE respond

I picked my 3.1" E-series Saturday, cleaned and lubed it, and put 74 rounds thru it yesterday. I have no problem with the trigger. When shooting at a cadenced pace, the reset "tick" in my finger was the signal to pull again. I rarely notice a "heavy" trigger until it reaches 7 or 8 pounds, and I never noticed the pull weight. There were no hiccups at all. The only problem I saw is that, like my BG 2.0, I'm hitting low and left. During the cadenced shooting at 7 yards I had a nice little hole - low and left. At 10 yards the hole was just left. I measured the front sight drift and it is a tiny bit to the right. I think it might be the same amount on my BG. I drifted it over until was was perfectly centered. Tomorrow I'm shooting some of my defense ammo and we'll see if I got the front sight right.

The little gun fit me very nicely, as the thicker grip works well for me. No movement, I can reach all the controls, and no interference with my hands while shooting. I'm gonna like this for my summer carry.

A friend just bought one and has buyer's remorse. He loves his Shield and said he should have stuck with it, but felt the need to go from a striker to a hammer.

So this is an interesting thread. I purchased the CSX E-Series 3.1" for a few reasons. One, I have a thing for hammer fired pistols. Two, the trigger is what I will call a hybrid trigger, in that it's pull is unique with a little bit of a traditional Glock like trigger safety, but the trigger movement swing is much less and flatter more like 1911. Three, the safety is very easy to use, albeit when broken in. It took a while to become really easy and Four, I like how it breaks down like a 1911.

Now, after over 1000 rounds I think I can speak intelligently about it. The trigger is just fine. Tacticle reset and smooth, getting smoother over time. Strong reset with an audible click. There are no hiccups on it, and never had a dead trigger. There has been no failure to feed with multiple types of ammo. Converting the grip module is an amazing selling point. Want small? Use the smaller grip for 12 rounds and up. Want full sized? Use the 15 and 17 round mags with the correct sleeves.

My one issue is more me than the pistol: I need to get a more consistent grip on it. If not my rounds go all over the place (meaning 12 inch group at 10 yards). If I'm consistent, I'm on target. I also have the Performance Center Shield Plus Carry Comp and it's much easier to shoot, but it's also bigger and, well, compensated.

Another thing people don't like: smaller trigger guard leads to less to grip when using a different support hand grip and using fingers on the trigger guard. That doesn't effect me, but others have mentioned it as an issue for them.

If I had to do it all over again? I'd get the 3.6" for stability. But I have the 3.1 so I have to practice more to get a more consistent grip on it for better groupings.

And that's my take on the CSX E-Series.

I have a different question for anyone who EDC's either version of the CSX.. Do you carry it Condition 1, cocked, locked and loaded like a 1911?

they look like great little guns, and i'm glad to see S&W continuing to make an innovative EDC-ready hammer fired pistol.

Cocked, locked and loaded? Darn tootin. It doesn't make sense to me to carry any other way. It's not a Sig

It's funny. I see nothing wrong with the trigger. It's different for sure, but not unusable or hard to pull. I actually like it. It's certainly not a race gun trigger, but there's nothing wrong with it.

is either of your 2 the e-series??? and is the e-series trigger better than the original?? I saw a youTube video showing the e-series has a 3 click trigger reset.

I can confirm the 3 click to be true although the last click is very subtle.

I recently bought a 3.1" CSX e and do like it. To me it's fine, I have zero issue with the trigger.

I took it out yesterday for a few drills at the range and it ran fine. I hope to use it next season shooting BUG division in IDPA. I'll post more about my experiences in the competition folder later

I bought one when they first came out. I liked everything about the gun EXCEPT the trigger!!!!! It had the three click reset, except the last reset was not too audible nor tactile. I felt like I was going to break my trigger finger trying to use that abominable trigger. Yes I grew up with 1911s and own a 52 and several revolvers all of which are a dream to shoot especially compared to the CSX-E. I am currently working on breaking in an M&P 2 Metal with the 3.6 barrel and safety. I have an original metal where the trigger is a dream to use. In fact, several gunsmiths have asked if it the original trigger. I am hoping as I put more rounds through the compact model, the trigger will work itself to the same state as the original.

I don't know if I never noticed it, or if it was so mild and it worked itself out. It was never an issue. But I've never had that trigger issue. Everyone seems to be talking about. To be fair, I wasn't reading up about that specific issue and none of the videos I watched brought that up. So maybe my ignorance was my Bliss and breaking it in made it a non-issue.
