I have CT grips on three handguns, including my S&W 637 (the visible hammer, visibly alloy-framed version of the 442). I bought it seven years ago, when the LG305 was the only version available. It provides a comfortable place for my pinky, which the original boot grips did not. The LG105 and LG405 also leave my pinky out in space. The LG105 grip is made of hard plastic, and does not cover the back strap. With these grips you get to deal with the full recoil, which with an Airweight is sobering. The LG405 grips are made of rubber, and not only covers the back strap but also provides a "shock absorber" at the top of the back strap, a very useful feature. If I forget to put a bandaid over the web between my thumb and hand before firing range loads (!!), I will develop (and pop) a blister by the twentieth round.
Crimson Trace provides three separate sets of grips for your Airweight, each for a different need. The LG105 set is the latest of the bunch, and emphasizes cheapness first, then concealability at the expense of pinky involvement. The LG405 set was the second design, and emphasizes recoil control first, then concealability at the expense of pinky involvement. The original LG305 set provides a full grip and a pretty good amount of recoil control. It is also concealable in my slacks pocket in an Uncle Mike holster. To my taste, the LG305 set is "just right".
