CTD has earned a nod from me after reading that they will follow LaRue Tactical and others by not selling products that are banned for civilians to governments or members of government.

I may be one of the few that don't blame them for their occassionally high prices which I fight tooth and nail by NOT buying from them. I support their free market rights as it appears they support the 2A in ways that all companies should

Cheaper Than Dirt Supports Citizens'
2nd Amendment Rights

Recently companies such as LaRue Tactical and Olympic Arms announced they will no longer sell prohibited items to government agencies and personnel in states denying civilians to own those same items. It has been and will continue to be Cheaper Than Dirt's policy not to sell prohibited items to government agencies and agents in states, counties, cities and municipalities that have enacted restrictive gun control laws against their citizens. We support and encourage other companies that share in this sentiment.

In all my government experience, I can't recall one time where an order was placed with the likes of Cheaper Than Dirt, a resale dealer at best.

This reads to me -- perhaps cynically -- like desperate back peddling from CTD.

They really blew it big with their core customer base after the Newtown tragedy by stopping all firearms sales and stating, from nowhere and with no explanation, that "CTD doesn't sell firearms"; then when things cooled a little on the shooting but customers were furious and not letting up, they suddenly sold firearms again with the excuse that it was all an order processing problem.

A seemingly transparent lie since to the best of my knowledge they were still able to process non-firearm orders through it all.

I don't mind companies probing to see what the market will bear, but currently listing new Colt 6920s at $3800 and Pmags at $100 is absurd even at the height of the most recent panic, much less now as prices are dropping.

Worse still are the many reported experiences of customer orders placed immediately prior to Newtown being cancelled as suddenly "out of stock" (after payment was given, item confirmed, and in some reports, shipping confirmed), then the item ordered re-listed immediately thereafter at panic prices.

Again, I don't mind sellers probing the market, but if you've entered into a finalized sale at a given price, squirming out of it on an "oops, out of stock" claim only to magically have the item back in stock a day later at double or triple the price is lousy.

I'm impressed at the anti-CTD sentiment burning up the gun forums far and wide, but I'm not surprised -- I'd say they earned it.

Next they won't be selling to N Korea or Iran. This is nothing but a straw man argument to garner support and sympathy. Easily seen through and even easier to respond to. Buy elsewhere.

CTD can go pound sand. Price gouging, spineless, yellow bellies. Academy is a company I will continue to support.

With C.T.D.'s 'creative/aggressive' pricing I doubt they EVER sold anything to the Gov.
It is a good publicity stunt though.

As far as I'm concerned, CTD abandoned us here in Mass when they settled with the Attorney General to avoid a law suit. Part of the agreement was that they not ship ammo or components to anyone other than an FFL. The same goes for Midway and Cabelas. When they tell us about how hard they fight for gun rights they are nothing but a bunch of phoneys. As far as I'm concerned, they can all go belly up.
