How does one go about getting a C&R license? I have been to the ATF website, and it isn't very clear how to go about getting a license. I supposedly went through the process of ordering the application form (and I think I did it correctly) but haven't received anything and it's been at least three weeks, now.

Any comments/answers/suggestions would be welcome!

ask for my application on their web site and it took about 6 weeks or so to get it
I sent that off two weeks ago and am just waiting

word is that they are way behind at sending out the apps or are backordered on them. There are some old downloadable forms floating about, but they won't accept those.

The process is very clear. You order an application, or print one off one of several dozen websites; fill it out, send it in, and wait for a response. It ain't a drive-thru window!

OK, thanks. I wouldn't have been surprised that it took 6 weeks or longer to process the application, but I figured it wouldn't take quite that long to GET the application!

Those forms are obsolete, do not use any downloaded form, get the correct one from the ATF. They are pretty swamped with applications now, so things are slow. Hang in there though, "Cruffling" is great fun!

You can also call the distribution center and request a form be mailed to you, that may be quicker. The number is here.
