Current Production S&W Model 617

Got an interesting E-mail yesterday from Altomont regarding my grip order. When I ordered them (and paid for them) they were listed a In Stock. Yesterday after three days went by, this E-mail comes to tell me that my grips have to be manufactured and they will be done in between 1 day and 4 weeks. They than asked if I wanted to leave the order in place or get a refund.

It's a computer generated email, we all got the same email after ordering. I received my grips within 10 days after getting that email. I was more than impressed with the fit & quality. Worth every penny!

Thanks for the heads up. As I said, it is no big deal, was just surprising when it stated "In Stock" at the time I placed the order. I guess three things could have happened, one they were incorrect in their inventory, two someone else ordered at the same time and I was behind them, or since I wanted the S&W Emblems, the inventory items did not have them.

I am sure they will be just what I want when they show up.

I picked up a used S&W 617-6 with a 6" barrel a couple of weeks ago. Went shooting this past weekend with a friend. Both of us agree it's one sweet firearm. I lost track of how many cylinders we shot but it performed flawlessly. Highly recommended!
