I’m looking for a great hard shell case for transporting handguns. I’m very familiar with Pelican brand cases, but the pick-n-pluck foam drives me crazy. It’s too soft and absorbs water. I have one case that I won in a raffle that has much harder foam, die-cut for semi-autos, but none of my wheelguns will fit. Try as I might, its hard to find where to buy the hard foam inserts. I can cut them if needed, but something pre-cut for revolvers would be great. I’m looking for a case that can hold four to six 6” revolvers. If it holds a few moon clips or speedloaders or a box or so of ammo that’d be great too. Anybody know where I can find something like this? I haven’t bought a case yet, so either a turnkey solution, or just generic foam that I can cut to fit for myself.

If you want to go "all out", you can get a custom case from R&R Cases. My brother uses them for expensive equipment and they'll do anything you ask of them. They have a "briefcase" sized one that we have that would probably work for your application. They're pretty indestructible.

Why not go to one of those BIG arts and crafts stores and buy some 'styro foam' then cut to your heart's content....?

Check out the 'VAULT' cases from Pelican. Real nice cases at reasonable prices. I just heated up a long box cutter blade and cut out the foam after tracing the gun with a silver Sharpie.

I like the case club, looks like a good option and not outrageously expensive for what you get. Thanks everyone!

I’ve got a number of number of multi-gun pistol cases and range boxes, but I rarely use them anymore. I find them a bit awkward, they take up a lot of space and it makes it difficult to haul everything into he range in one trip. If you cut out the foam, you limit the use of the case and I don’t trust un-cut compression type foam to prevent multiple guns from banging into each other. It’s kind of tacky when you have to put old socks between guns to protect them.

Those Case Club cases look pretty nice, but they’re pricy and I really don’t see the advantage. A few of their 24 gun cases seems appealing at first glance, but they won’t hold long barrel revolvers, I really don’t have room to store them and I think I’d hurt myself carrying one!

I store the majority of the handguns I shoot in pistol rugs, so I use those for transport. I have found it more convenient to carry a large range bag that holds all my gear - guns, ammo, tools, hearing/eye protection and target supplies.

I use a case just like the Case Club model but for Autos. I find it to be incredibly convenient, holds them securely, allows me to put magazines next to their respective weapon (also securely), and locks. The cases are waterproof, dustproof, and close to crushproof. There are models with wheels and handles if your going with more than 5 weapons (weight issues). Mine have reinforced places for locks to secure the weapons for transport and meet FAA regs to do so. Heck, I even have one in Walther Blue for my.....you guessed it....Walthers! :)

The one below cost me about $165, holds 5 autos, has top and side handles, an extending handle for use with the wheels. It comes in a variety of colors, including black.
