I need a parts list schematic for my M&P 15PSX. Why? Good question. After waiting 1 hour the other day for someone at Smith & Wesson to answer the phone, I was informed by the CS operator that HE does not have a schematic to find the exact part I need to get my rifle back in service. The manual lists three different names for the part, none of which are on the parts list the CS operator had in front of him.

So, he is sending parts out, and I should find out in about two weeks if they are the right parts. In the meantime I would like to locate the name of the part myself without another 20 minutes of walking some uninformed overworked employee, to the general location of my tiny part.

What part are you looking for?? I have a M&P15PS and the only parts that are different from a DI M&P 15 are in the piston system. If it is a part in the piston system Adams Arms might have what you are looking for.

The part is an e-clip that retains the spring loaded detent button on the gas selector knob. I have heard back from S&W and their fix (instead of just sending me the 3mm e-clip) is to just ship the rifle back to them. What a bunch of ..... anyway, I'm ready to rant about Smith's lack of customer support.

Why is that a surprise? They are a firearms manufacturer. They fix it and send it back to you. Unless you're an actual gunsmith (not just some schmoe who has put together an AR15 before) and authorized to do warranty work on Smith & Wesson firearms, they don't want to send the part to you and take the chance that you'll screw it up, putting it in.

We live in a litigeous world. A world in which someone can bring suit against McDonalds (and win) because they weren't told that the coffee was hot.

Sorry. It is what it is.
