Customized 38 special

Bill Davis customized 38 special target gun.

I picked this up today.

Is Bill still working?

It is a k frame square butt.

If I am reading the gun correct it appears to be a model 84. Was there ever a 38special model 84.

The gun has a heavy barrel and is double action only.

I think that it can only be a Model 14.

Model 14

Bill Davis has a website. I found some pictures of his custom work.
Some were model 10. I will recheck to determine if model 14s were also
customized.

Ah yes, Bill Davis. He was with Cake / Davis when I shot some of his guns.
The Davis specialties were K frame S&Ws, 10s, 14s, and 15s with the ribbed site and bull barrel.
Fine guns.

Smith never made a model 84.

The M64 could be a K frame SB in 38 Special. Is it stainless?

I cannot post photos. I have since found out it is a Model 10 double action only.

Photos can be found by searching Bill Davis revolvers using yahoo.
The gun is not stainless. The front sight can be changed by means of
premarked ranges.
