Cut down 19-2?

Anyone ever seen a cut down 19-2? Friend of mine owns this, would have to of started life as a 2.5” with where the barrel markings are right? He’d never measured it I’ll today.

Where the ejector lug is and the shortness of the ejector rod tell me it started as a 2 1/2” barrel.

Did someone swap a 2” model 15 barrel into that 19 ?
I think barrel marking is .38 Spl. ?

Seems so weird to cut one don less than an inch difference

Must've cracked the forcing-cone on the OEM barrel, and replaced with a 2" M-15 barrel ?

Here are pictures of my Model 15-3 .38 Special, with original 2" barrel.

I'd say the OPs gun is a Model 15, not 19. Do .357 Magnum cases fit in the cylinder? What is the model number stamped on the inside of the frame?

He just re checked it is a 15 not a 19

Yep, it's a Model 15-2...probably fairly early (1964-65?). Can't really tell without the s/n. Here's my minty Model 15-2 with 1962 frame and 1964 2" bbl...in the s/n range of the Model 56s. One of the first 15-2 snubbies introduced by S&W..
