Cylinder and Slide fixed sights

Does anyone have any experience with these Fixed Sights?

I've been thinking about trying them out at some point when I've got money to burn (not really any time too soon). How do they work? Is there any modification necessary? I've got a 19-4 I'd like to put them on.

I have a wonderful Model 696 with the Crimson Trace stocks. I have been mulling that idea for a while. One thing I might mention is that you will have to probably replace the front sight also if you weren't aware. I don't know what your application is, but, that would be a little more trouble than just unscrewing the adjustable and screwing on the C&S mod.

I will do that soon to mine. Don't need adjustable sights on a three inch belly gun with Crimson Trace stocks.

Mine's a 4" 19-4. I just looked at it. How does the front sight come off? Or does it?

That would be a great gun to do that modification to. The front sight is pinned and the pins were polished smooth to the ramp. If you hold the gun in the light you can see the pins.
I would seriously consider getting on the phone with C&S customer service and explain what you want to do. It may be in your best interest to have them install the front and rear sight to make sure they sell you the correct setup for that gun. I would call them anyway to verify that you will need a new sight on the front. I am pretty sure you will. You need to ask the experts for their advice.

That's too bad about the delay. I am sure there are many here that would like to see and hear about that modification to your Model 19. I think it is a great idea and wish that Smith had built them that way as an option model. And no, it's not a Model 13...

I agree 100%. KKG has a fixed sight 19 3" that was apparently part of a batch made for the French Police. That would be my ideal revolver. I love the look of the fixed sights with the shrouded ejector rod. If they had made the model 13 that way I would have looked for one of those instead of a 19.

I have a set of the C&S sights on one of my guns. I like it.
However, you should be aware that the screw holes are placed for post-'93 guns with the rounded front on the rear sight leaf. Your Model 19-4 will need to have the frame drilled and tapped to install the C&S rear sight.

Dammit! Does anyone make one that is an easy swap for the older guns? Even if I drilled and tapped the frame would there still be a gap between the rounded sight leaf and the square channel on the frame?
